At the moment I would say:

Bosh, Dwight Howard, Randolph, Boozer, Okafor, Gasol, and Krstic are better players. Maybe Bogut too, I can't say this early.

Curry could be better than all of them except maybe Howard, if Curry ever learns how to play.

Curry is such a dominating presence, he's the NBA version of the big fat kid at the playground that nobody wants to guard because he can break your nose without trying. Unfortunately in the NBA that translates into foul trouble. He really has to work on his footwork and conditioning at the moment to become a better player.

For the most part I'd have to agree.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Dwight howard is the only player I take over curry, Bogut? please, there are a lot of players like bogut, kristic is one, nothing special with soft tall, gangly centers.... Okafor I think is good, but I have seen him play a lot and I am not that impressed with him as many others are...

Dwight Howard has the potential to be great....

Which young PF/Cs would you prefer over Curry?

Curry vs. Bosh
Curry vs. Bogut
Curry vs. Dwight Howard
Curry vs. Kwame
Curry vs. Bynum
Curry vs. Al Jefferson
Curry vs. Wilcox
Curry vs. Zach
Curry vs. Boozer
Curry vs. Chandler
Curry vs. Okafor
Curry vs. Gasol
Curry vs. Dalembert
Curry vs. Krstic

Bosh, Bogut, Howard, Chandler, Okafor, Gasol, Krstic. Additionally, Bynum may some day be on par with Curry, but that's too early to say. I wouldn't trade Curry for Bynum at this point in time. In three years, that view could change.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Krstic's averaging 0.7 apg and Curry's averaging 0.6. The only difference is that Krstic has Vince Carter, Jason Kidd, and Richard Jefferson to pass to, whereas Curry has Marbury and no one to pass to. That doesn't bode well for Krstic. I agree Krstic is the better shot-blocker and Curry is the better scoring. Their rebounding was about even until this year, where Curry has an edge (although it's very early).

Krstic has a career average of 1.0 to Curry's 0.6, I believe. You may be right that the difference is that Krstic having better guys to throw it to, but last year's Bulls had some decent scorers.

Dwight howard is the only player I take over curry, Bogut? please, there are a lot of players like bogut, kristic is one, nothing special with soft tall, gangly centers.... Okafor I think is good, but I have seen him play a lot and I am not that impressed with him as many others are...

Are you basing your opinion on potential or what they have done?

Knickerblogger's stat page is finally up. It's still way early, but it might fun to take a look at the PERs of these guys so far.

Gasol 24.7
Bosh 22.5
Randolph 22.3
Howard 19.3
Bogut 19.1
Jefferson 17.4
Wilcox 16.9
Curry 16.7
Krstic 16.1
Okafor 14.7
Chandler 9.9
Kwame 3.8 (LOL!)
Bynum N/A
Boozer N/A
Dalembert N/A

The main thing that holds Curry back is his T/Os. His scoring and even his rebounding have been good so far, but he makes so many TOs that it really hurts the team. I'm guessing that if he could keep his TOs and fouls to average levels for a big guy his PER would be in the neighborhood of 19.

These 2005 PERs are from basketball-reference.com, which I think has had some slight discrepencies with Knickerblogger's listings for PERs in the past, but...

Player - 2005 PERs - 2006 PERs so far

Gasol - 22.5 - 24.7
Bosh - 17.5 - 22.5
Randolph - 18.6 - 22.3
Bogut - N/A - 19.1
Howard - 17.2 - 19.3
Jefferson - 16.6 - 17.4
Wilcox - 13.6 - 16.9
Curry - 16.3 - 16.7
Krstic - 13.4 - 16.1
Okafor - 16.3 - 14.7
Chandler - 16.4 - 9.9
Kwame - 10.4 - 3.8
Bynum - N/A - N/A
Boozer - 19.2 - N/A
Dalembert - 14.4 - N/A

By the way, not counting last night's game, Frye has an 18.1 PER so far, and Mo clocks in at 16.4. Lee has a ridiculously high 31.8, but that's mostly a small sample size fluke.

Chandler,Okafor and Gasol.
Chandler?

I mean I like what Chandler brings to the game, alot. But Curry is a much bigger talent imo.
I like Curry a lot, but I feel we need more a player like Camby (what Tyson is).

After last night's game, Curry's PER is up to 17.6, and Frye is at 23.5. As you can tell, the PER ratings right now are volatile and haven't yet settled on stable, dependable values. But those numbers are really nice regardless.
