What I like best of all these crazy rumors is that it's keeping the Knicks in the news. The joke's on whoever think Steph and/or Isiah are going anywhere. All this drama is keeping alot of eyes on the Knicks.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

this is good. We can start playing as a team now. Not a bunch of stagnant chokers! There's no way Isiah is getting fired. Even if this report isn't true it doesn't take a genious to realize Marbury is not wanted onn this team. He doesn't fit

Yeah we have a ton of players who can do what he does.

its okay we'll find one eventually

I love the Knicks and put the team ahead of any individual player they have. I sadly watched us trade Starks years ago but I knew it was the right move for us to make.

Ever since Marbury got here, he has been one of my favorite players in this league and I don't want to see him go. Now, if the right deal comes up, I would understand and would be willing to trade Stephon just like in the Starks situation.

However, I'm sick of everying putting the blame on Steph. HE IS NOT THE REASON WHY WE ARE 0-5. If you guys want to blame someone, blame Larry Brown. I'm sick of this, Brown repeatedly says that he wants to get a better feel for this team, so he continues to play 11 players on any given night. He has been getting off easy though because he continues to let everyone know that its all about getting the team to play the right way (meaning Wins and Losses don't matter as much now because its all about the future). As a result of this, why is everyone surprised that we are off to such a bad start? Furthermore, why is Stephon getting blamed for this? We all know that we would be 4-1 or 3-2 right now if Larry Brown made the right moves (i.e. keeping Malik off the court in the closing minutes off a game). Instead of giving his players confidence, Larry is just confusing the hell out of them with no set rotation.

If we had a different coach right now, THERE IS NO WAY WE ARE UNDER .500. Yet, we conclude that Larry is doing all of this to get a better understanding of the team which will result in a much better team down the line. We all keep saying that the sacrifice (losing games right now) will be worth it down the line.

So why does everyone still blame Steph? He is playing his ass off each and every night and his improvement can easily be seen. In the Golden State game, Steph should have been the one with the ball at the end. We all know that. Larry was correct in pointing that out. Here is what I don't get, instead of going to the media and telling everyone about it, why doesn't Larry just shut up about it and instill some confidence in Steph and everyone else on this team because they desperately need it.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Larry at all. I'm glad he is our coach and I know he will make us a better team down the line. But I just don't get why he gets a free pass when Steph doesn't. We were all warned that this team would start off slow but that it would yield better results as we go along. I don't know about you guys, but everything seems to be going as predicted right now. Because of that, I just don't understand why everyone is so surprised.
EXCELLENT POST!!!!!

The reason LB gets a pass is because he has a proven track record and Steph doesn't. But I agree that with another coach we would have won games by now. And I also agree that the Knicks will be a better team in the long run for having LB do what he does.

LB is the reason we are losing, but he is also the reason we will be a tough team down the road. Our defense is pretty good. Hes just gott get Rose out of the rotation and AD's minutes way down.

He's also gotta polish Curry, and get Jacki Butler in there.

I agree Killa. Doing all that will make us a better. We will win a few more games that way and be 2-5 as opposed to 0-5. But I'm hoping for bigger things than 2-5. It's going to take more than just benching Malik and AD to make us a good team again.

Larry Brown has orchestrated this from day one. He'll either get his way with the roster or continue to lose until Isiah is fired. I hate Larry Brown. Poor Zeke, he didn't know what he was getting into.

More like we would've been at least 2-3, somewhat more confident, and wouldn't have to deal with any of this trade rumor bs. I believe that time will undeniably make this team better, as with all LB teams. He's a good coach and we'll have better times than this. But his constant rotations, complaining, and terrible substitutions at the worst time certainly aren't making the situation better. Tonight would be a good time to get the taste of losing out of our mouths.

Larry Brown is an egotistic manipulator. This has nothing to do with coaching. It's about power.

WOW.

That's all I have to say about that.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Substantial rumor? Or just the latest wild conspiracy theory speculation farted out from a frenzied media spree and gobbled up by the impaired judgment of the stressed out, panic-ridden fans? (You KNOW who you are!) You be the judge.

Did anyone think it would be possible for the team to start 0-5 without the media creating rumors about Steph being traded or Isiah being fired? Seriously?

Here's the thing about Steph:

He's not a Kobe or an AI. He's a 2nd tier Star. He's not Batman, he's not Robin. He's like Steve Francis. Can't really carry a team, can't really take a backseat.

It's not directly Steph's FAULT. He's been utilized the wrong way for so long. The only reason GM's have traded for him is b/c he's a top TALENT and draws tickets and fans. But you have to settle him in the right role in order to get the most out of him - meaning WINS.

The best scenario is for him to move almost exclusively to SG, and to get the green light to shoot and shoot and shoot until he can't shoot anymore. To play an "AI role". When Marbury's assists go DOWN and his scoring efficiency and defense go UP.....that's when you know you're making the most out of his talent, which is dominant scoring from both the perimeter and the paint.

But once you start relying on him to move the offense through both him AND his teammates.....then you have a problem. That would be like expecting a bus driver to keep the bus going 60 MPH when he's most comfortable and efficient driving 50. Marbury simply can't get his AND be a REAL point guard. Just not feasible.

And I wouldn't deny that Dolan is maybe a bit fed up with all the spending with no results, so maybe this IS a leak...who knows. Maybe DJ was doing PCP and just imagined it outta thin air. Who knows...

I do know this though -

if you're trading Marbury.....it better be for 1 of 2 things:

SERIOUS Cap space

or Equal/Upgraded Talent

Anything else is trading him just to trade him.....BIG mistake.

brown's pride to let this team go 0-5 is sad. williams coaching would have never let such thing happen. chaney would have at least 1 win under the firing line

do you realize we have not started 0-5 since 1987

is brown trying to prove he can succeed at being a better mascot than a great coach suppose to be.....what gives

^ and ironically ewing was on that team...

interesting huh....we blame Marbury for the losses, but Ewing couldn't have possibly been to blame for starting 0-5 in '87.

If you wanna blame anyone, blame Isiah and Larry.

I hate how much the talking heads (aka hacks) from crappy ny papers get paid so much attention for their opinions. Outside of factual reporting, announcers are starting to say shnit like "marbury, blasted by Frank Isola of the blah blah news" as if such and such a beat writer is an expert the annonucer has to appeal to for insight. Such horse poop.

Rant over.

I hope Isiah doesn't get the boot, but rather that the spending does in fact get locked down.

It's not as if the early schedule is a picnic either. If we start 0-9 or something like, it will be in large part due to a tough opening schedule. The closest thing we've had to freebies have been @Bos and @Por, but neither of those teams has been as bad as popular thought held going into the season, I think. Funny thing is, if we opened up with a soft, patsy schedule and had a decent record, you just know everyone would be putting an asterisk on the success-- oh, it's just cuz the sched has been easy. How wins and losses are strung together is largely a function of how the schedule happens to have been made.

Certainly, if we had this identical 0-5 stretch somewhere in the middle of the season, there would be rumblings but *nothing* like it is now. What's the difference between those two scenarios? Nothing, except how one tends to be more glaring to perceptions than the other. Things aren't rosey right now for sure, but all the exaggerated claims and unchecked emotions flying around are just way over the top.

Wow, what a shocker. Thanks for the sleuthing bobs. Not a conclusive proof that the report didn't happen, but pretty strong evidence.

People have got to learn how to be more skeptical of the media and internet reports.

by definition, knicks fans are MELODRAMATIC!!! after a loss...THE SKY IS FALLING. after a win...WE'RE WINNING THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

i am emotional when it comes to this team but i'd like to think that i also know what's going on here. yes, it's VERY early and yes, there are some very encouraging signs - (i made a post about this after the golden state game). BUT BUT BUT BUT...there's just something else going on here. my spider-sense is tingling and i don't know why...maybe it is the PCP.
it's starting to unfold...steph and/or isiah is on their way out
