agreed. they are the epitomy of castoffs. We can't rely on rookies to win games this year but we could play them more and live through the growing pains. too bad we gave chicago our lottery pick instead of Lee

[Edited by - gunsnewing on 11-10-2005 01:12 AM]

Oh please, you were so high on Lee no less then a month ago. I've never seen anyones opinion change so quickly 1 month ago David Lee was the next Larry Bird and the Knicks were winning 46 games in your book. Now your jumping off the bandwagon that quick?

Everyone needs to just chill out!

[Edited by - nyk4ever on 11-10-2005 01:18 AM]

46? wow I said 38-43! and I acknowledged Lee's terrible shooting man! I know these Marbury posts get to you bro. you'll just have to ignore them because they be a lot of them all season

Who said anything about Marbury? Got a sore spot?

Briggs is Correct. This team is so flawed it's not even funny. This is not an NBA Team. More like a street ball team.

OHHHHH LOOK AT CRAWFORD PUT BALL BETWEEN HIS LEGS AND AROUND HIS BACK. We not playing NBA Street here guys.

When Curry trade happened mostly everyone said "We def making playoffs and we gonna win 45-50 games"...then we start 0-4 and it's "We are rebuilding". Which is it? 45-50 win playoff team or rebuilding? Can't do both.

as much as I love Leefor the 30th pick he is I would much rather have the #1 overall pick in the lottery this year since thats where we're headed

people really need to chill out. this is all growing pains. once this team learns how to play together it's going to be very good. I swear.

That's BS. Our best experienced players are castoffs--who nobody wanted or wants now. We need some real ballers who will bring it every night.

A) you don't know what the negotiations were, what if Chicago wanted the pick AND Lee and Isiah held Lee out of the deal instead of swapping him for the pick. The only thing that planted that idea in your head is Briggs thinking out loud.

B) castoffs or not, they're extremely talented and they're learning to play not only for Brown, but with each other. We have 7 out of 12 guys who are brand new. The reason the rookies play well together is that they KNOW each other from Summer league. When the starters know how to play together, they will get better. It may take a month, but you might want to demonstrate a little patience.

C) Speaking of Chicago, they started 0-9 last year and finished with 47 wins. Parallels? Hmm... they had three rookies, three new starters and they were trying to figure out a rotation...SOUND FAMILIAR???? Anyone who has watched the NBA for a long time knows that it takes time for a team to learn how to play together. You can't just throw a bunch of guys together like a fantasy team and expect to win right away. Check Miami out, for instance, bunch of talented guys who've never played together. Meanwhile, Indiana, who have played together for years beat the stuffing out of them for the second time. And, Yeah, back in the day, Indiana was the youngest team to ever make the playoffs in 2001 under Zeke, and they struggled all season long. Young teams struggle. Teams with new players struggle. Throw in the new coach and it's going to take a while. Patience.

D) Patience.

From the Times:

Portland Coach NATE McMILLAN, who coached Jerome James in Seattle, seemed unsurprised that James had struggled since joining the Knicks. James signed a $30 million deal in July but was displaced as the presumed starter when the Knicks acquired Eddy Curry from Chicago in October. "I felt like once they made the trade with Chicago, that Jerome probably would feel that he is not a big part of that team," McMillan said. "I'm sure that when Jerome signed that contract, he looked at that as an opportunity to play and an opportunity to be the man, so to speak. He has always wanted to be a bigger part of a team. Even in Seattle, he felt like he could give just as much as Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. But there was a pecking order." Asked why James, a physical 7-footer, has never become a steady player, McMillan said: "I won't get into that. He's in New York now. Coach Brown will figure that out."

Good post Crzy but don't waste your time, no one here will listen. Its the end of the world and you know its the end of the world when New York fans are dissing Larry Brown. I don't care what anyone thinks of the man he's GREAT coach. We all knew this was going to take some time so just let it work itself out but no people can't do that. Rookies are a big part of this team like it or not and they take time to adjust and it also takes time to for the coach to figure out what the best rotation and substitution patterns are. No one has patience.

Better question: what answer do we have when the Bulls unveil Tim Thomas?

yeah people need to start looking at this team and the man who put it together. The flaws are driving Larry nuts right now

Well I don't think Larry would take the job if he didn't like the roster, I don't care how much money he was going to get, he wouldn't do it. Have things been ugly? YES, they've been very ugly. If anyone here doesnt think they can make it through the first 20-25 games before the Coach and the team start figuring things out then I suggest you not watch. It doesn't matter waht the Knicks did this year, we all knew they weren't going to win a championship this year, this year was a year to establish a identity by the end of the year and have a team that runs well together going into next year where we can make some noise. THATS IT.

Who do you want to be the PG. Instead of just saying you want him off the team or anyone off the team for that matter, who would like to run the point for the Knicks that the Knicks have a legit shot at trading for?

anyone just make a move that will get young defensive minded, fundamentally sound players & draft picks. We had charlie ward as our PG for 10yrs and won more games, I'm sure we'll find someone to run the offense
