I think Marbs is basically paralyzed out there right now. He's trying to involve the team to a fault, when he should just be doing his thing. This team needs him as the offensive leader, we don't need him to "sacrifice," we need him to lead and score.

I will say that his moodiness on the court will probably get old if the Ws don't start piling up.

I think he needs to keep trying to run Larry's system. At some point, he'll hopefully be able to do his thing within that system. At least, that's what I'm hoping for.
https:// It's not so hard.

Simply put - Marbs isn't the right PG for this team.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I really liked the way he played tonite. He really looked kinda comfortable playing in Larry's system and I saw on a couple of occasions Larry come up to him and give him a pat and whisper in his ear after he did a few good things. I agree Marbs isn't the best PG for this team but I think he's doing a pretty good job so far, especially tonite.

The bottom line is Marbury is untradeable for the time being. After this season, he's still got three years and $60.3 million remaining. I just don't see us being able to improve our team by dealing him. We would never get equal value in return. We would get underachievers with huge contracts. In other words, the Tim Thomases, Mo Taylors and Jerome James (had to throw that name in there) of the NBA. At least with Marbury, we have a player who is legit. He might not be a true franchise talent, but he does bring something significant to the table. Unless Isiah can work a miracle, our best bet is to hold onto him.

Agree. And he is consistant. If we could get our other guys to give us the same production everynight, we'd be alright.

Again, the Marbury trade was beyond stupid. I'm not hating on him as a player but if the plan was to rebuild, which it wasn't, then why trade for a PG who would be on the downside of his career when the young kids would hopefully be maturing into solid players? To sell tickets while sacrificing tons of cap space and 2 potentially high #1 picks among with trade assets?

I swear, there is never any plan when it comes to Isiah. He just makes moves for the sake of making moves. "He's available? Ok lets get him." Without rhyme or reason. He adds players not because they fit and have the proper skill sets but because he can. What kind of way is that to run a team?

Seriously, Isiah has to go.

imho, the marbury trade was two fold - business wise was to get fans back into the seats and pumped about a dead team. basketball wise, it was to pair him WITH houston. of course that never happened and it would be tough to dispute a marbury/houston backcourt wouldn't be the best in the league. so that was mistake #1 by isiah, thinking houston would be healthy again. i think if houston was finished, then marbury would probably not be a knick but i still think jamal would be.

As soon as Colangelo called Isiah to ask about his interest in Marbury, he was going to be a Knick regardless of Houston.
