So there's your answer Isles. Knicks main front men: Steph, LB and Isiah. It ain't hard to tell.
And did you miss the "Nate Robinson will be playing his first NBA regular season game". And the interview of Nate later in the show. But they showed Marbury hitting a layup so I guess that's equal billing to you. Especially for the supposed face of the franchise.

You're talking about ONE segment of ONE episode!

I'm talking about the the show's actual OPENING THEME WHICH PLAYS NIGHT IN AND NIGHT OUT no matter who the focus of a single show is.

You = one show topic.

Me= what has been consistant for over a year and conitinues to be th case...and WILL continue to be the case even if the opening them changed tomorrow. Get use to it. Understand it.

You must have missed the weeks that featured eps that JUST talked about Larry. Or JUST talked about Eddy Curry. Or JUST talked about Frye (including him also having HIS own ep of NYK Way). During these eps of Sports Desk did you get thrown off as well? lol It can't be THAT hard to understand. It's fairly easy.

Mainstead vs. topic of the night.

Until Marbury complains and pouts or Larry benches him or Zeke trades him this is a non-issue.

It is pre-season. It's like saying look how far Drew Brees has fallen after San Diego drafted Phillip Rivers. Let's wait for the season to start

LOL Are you serious? That just means they haven't changed the beginning montage lately. Chad Pennington is still on the ESPN Sportscenter montage, does that mean that he's a "mainstead" too?

Opening Night eve and what's the big story at the Garden? Nate is about to pop his NBA cherry. Woo hoo. Nothing about the supposed Franchise player having to adjust to a new role which will have a much greater impact on the success of the team than anything Nate will do.

Actually, it seems like the big story is Larry Brown coaching his first game as the Knicks head coach. Marbury will get plenty of limelight once he leads the team in scoring again. And Marbury will get plenty of the blame if this team doesn't work (rightly or wrongly).

It's only natural to focus on the new additions, there are 11 of them and only a handful of holdovers. Nate is the most exuberant new-comer, so he's getting his share of the spot light. The spot light will change once the actual games begin.

He was number 3 in assists. One of the only players to average 20 and 8 in cosecutive seasons and he shot the highest percentage of his career (46%). I would say he has arrived before I say he fell off. Like Doc Holliday said in Tombstone "I'm in my prime." Watch Marbs shine like a real star this year

Somehow I knew my brilliant Phillip Rivers/Drew Brees analogy would be ignored.

I loved it!! Highlight of the thread

What does Knick's preseason, sportsdesk, MSG commercials, etc all have in common?

They are all marketing tools for MSG to pump up its product and generate interest. This isnt rocket science. Regular Knick fans are watching no matter what. But the casual fan needs something more. Why should I follow this team? Larry Brown, Eddie Curry and Marbury are boring. Not boring is Nate Robinson. He's small, scrappy and blue collar. Its the little guy vs. the big guy! If you cant see the appeal in that and desire to market that for what it is your lost.

Nate has nothing to do with Marbury. Nate is about marketing, selling jerseys and generating buzz. His great performances in the SLs got him and the Knicks national attention in the media. So your saying they shouldnt market that because maybe it hurts Marbury's feelings?

Please... I *know* you can do better than this

kind of like how far CWebb has fallen until he drops 35/15/5 in an opening OT win.

Lets wait till it counts before the drama, then analyze every game as if its the only one we get to play all year

I agree, I don't understand the logic of overanalyzing pre-season. I guess people are just getting warmed up to over analzye every game.

On a side note: Man was my analogy brilliant.

Got another one. Hurricane katrina was front page news. Then something else happened somewhere else and the news stopped reporting on Katrina. Does that mean Katrina has fallen out of favor?

Yet another brilliant Bippity moment

I think you mean in an openning loss. His #s fell enormously the minute he starting playing with Iverson last year. If he can return to at least his pre-Sixers #s and stay healthy, I'll be impressed.
