Isiah isn't stupid enough to trade Ariza...especially for Miles.

And don't even get me started about the expiring contracts.

YOU DON'T JUST WASTE THOSE ON OVERPAYED MARGINAL STARTERS.

Jesus Christ. I swear, some Knick fans are just dumb as rocks.

I mean...is Miles THAT much of an upgrade over Barnes or Ariza? And consider the fact that he's been in the league an extra 2 years.

If it only costs Malik or Taylor and a Pick...then sure, take the gamble. But otherwise, leave it alone. Don't make trades just to make them....
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Boston is so lame until I swear to you I have never even been anywhere near a Boston message board. Do any even exist? lol I love it when a person from another state makes it their business to seek out New York just to tell us their thoughts on NY. When I think a state is a nonfactor I usually ignore them.

I kid you not, Boston is one of those states that I totally forget about until someone brings them up. I saw the screenname 'Red Sox Rule' and I'm like "Oooooh yeah.....Boston".

LYNCH-LARRY REUNION NOT LIKELY

By MARC BERMAN

The Knicks have no plans of pursuing recently waived small forward George Lynch, even though he once was a favorite of Larry Brown's in Philadelphia, according to sources.

Lynch, 35, was cut by the league-worst Hornets, and scouts believe he has lost a step on defense. Lynch never has been able to shoot. Brown thinks the club could use a small forward who can defend the league's great swingman.

Brown has a reputation for making weekly suggestions to GMs on available players he likes, but going after Lynch goes against everything Knicks president Isiah Thomas is trying to do with his young roster. The Knicks are set with 15 players.

If the Knicks signed Lynch, they'd have to cut the surprise of preseason, Matt Barnes, who at 25 is an athletic leaper, gritty and shoots better than Lynch. The other option would've been buying out Penny Hardaway, but he's a trade asset because of his expiring contract.

Brown isn't sure Quentin Richardson or Trevor Ariza can handle the defensive chore of guarding the league's top 3s.

*

Brown said he underwent a series of tests Thursday and is awaiting results to see if his bladder condition will force him to miss any games this season . . . Brown sent PF Antonio Davis home to Chicago yesterday to gather his belongings for the season and he missed the open practice before about 5,000 at the Garden.

*

The Knicks are selling partial ticket plans called "The Brown Seats." It includes Brown's seven prior NBA coaching stops (Nets, San Antonio, Clippers, Pacers, Pistons, Sixers and Nuggets. Also included is an NCAA game, as Kansas, where Brown coached, is part of Coaches for Cancer Garden tourney.

A new rule in the collective bargaining agreement allows a three-man taxi squad, similar to injured list except players don't have to spend five games inactive. Brown said it makes it harder on coaches.

how convenient that you disappear when Boston Red Sox were getting beat down in the playoffs, and now that baseball is over, you resubmerge.

At this point in his career, Lynch is probably 'intrigued' at the possibility of playing for any nba team.

Since we may have to release a player to get Lynch, I don't believe that Zeke will try to do this deal. In my opinion, both Butler and Barnes are better than Lynch...Don't make that mistake Zeke...stand pat.

That Jones kid Isiah had up in Indy that he tried to get earlier I thought I read has avged 16 pts a game preseason! The kid can shoot!

Barnes can shoot better than Lynch and that might seal his fate on sticking with the team.

Hey... I hope the Knicks don't pick up Lynch. He's a played out veteran. He doesn't offer anything we don't already have in Ariza/Lee/Barnes--- All of them are more athletic, have tons more upside, and do practically everything better than Lynch. All of that "veteran" leadership can be compensated for by youthful exhuberance and sheer athleticism.

Lynch should not be a part of this team.

Word. Yeah, we're like the only "non-contender" he'd consider playing for. :) At this stage of his career, he should take it wherever he can get it.

And the Power struggle between Isiah and LB begins.

I hate to agree with Isles but I think he is right. I think Brown will begin to start to play with the media and starting these trade rumors. I think the Steph stuff is going to come to a head near the trade deadline. Keep in mind that Dumars didn't allow LB too much influence and towards the end King let LB get involve in player movement less and less. I can see Nate getting move sometime this season.

Phew:

[...]

Team president Isiah Thomas confirmed the Post's report the Knicks aren't going after Brown favorite George Lynch, because unsung SF Matt Barnes is younger and, they feel, better.

Asked about Lynch clearing waivers today, Thomas said: "I like our roster the way it is. Right now I don't see changing it."

It's INEVITABLE that a coach and a GM won't agree 100% of the time. That's hardly a power struggle. It's just what happens occasionally when two intelligent people are making tough decisions. What coach and GM have never disagreed on anything to your knowledge?

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
