I'm jumping the gun here. But judging from the preseason games, I think this season will be a long challenging one for us fans to watch. I'm fine with that because I'm looking forward to our young kids developing into future studs. BUT... if both NY and Minesota struggles this season and if KG demands to be traded, would you offer this package? NY sends: Marbury, AD, Frye, Lee, Ariza, Nate Min sends: KG, Wally (Trade ID: 2609512) Minny sends a future #1 pick. Our lineup: Marbury Q/Craw Wally/Barnes KG/Butler/Talyor Curry/James/Rose Minny can go with: Marbury/McCants/Jaric/Frye/Kandi with Hudson/Hassell/Skita/Griffin/Lee/Ad coming off the bench. Minny saves a bit less than $40mm. PS: If Minny wants Penny instead of Marbury, why not... Then they save over $90mm.
Yes!
Hell, no!
I'd do this with a minor tweaking

You'd have to be crazy not to do this deal (if it's the version where we're keeping Marbury). KG is an MVP who's still playing outstanding basketball. I wouldn't give up any player who has a chance of being as good as him, but we're obviously not doing that. Who wouldn't want to see Larry Brown coach this lineup:

Marbury
Q/Craw
Wally/Barnes
KG/Butler/Talyor
Curry/James/Rose

The "right" deal is one by definition you always have to make; otherwise it's not the right deal. If you have a specific Marbury/KG deal in mind, I'll let you know if I'd do it and why.

Nope, I'm tired of trading for players who may well be about to begin to decline.

What if even in their decline their still superstars at a higher level than any of our current frontcourt players will be at (maybe--a huge maybe--with the exception of Curry)?

Everything is a calculated risk, but I'm high on Frye.

So you're telling me you'd rather have Frye than KG, on a hunch?
I'm glad you are not the GM.

How about this?

NY sends: Penny, AD, Q, Lee, Nate, Butler
Min sends: KG, Wally, Hudson
(trade ID: 2610783)

Our lineup:
Marbury/Hudson
Craw/Ariza
Wally/Barnes
KG/Frye/Talyor
Curry/James/Rose

I think minny would be saving close to $100mm with this deal.
Frye stays in this scenario but we lose Q, nate, lee, butler.

i personally think that isiah would jump on this (or the original trade involving Stephon). getting KG to play with Curry & co = instant title contender. the front court of Curry/KG/Wally would be sick.

Who wouldn't? My god, Frye is already on pace to put 50 and 30 this season. Frye is my god. I love Frye. I want his babies.

Get a grip, people. Anyone who wouldn't trade Frye for KG is insane.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

What would make the Knicks better than what the T-Wolves are right now with your deal?
That's your biggest problem, you are back where you started except that now KG and Wally are in Knick uniforms. KG needs another option like Marbury, to trade Marbury in the deal would accomplish nothing. The idea should be how do you reunite Marbury and KG while keeping an outsider shooter threat like a Richardson. Still need a solid defensive minded center as well, Curry isn't this. Maybe James could be better than Kandi-ass but I doubt it.
