Interesting article from the times that started as a Quenting article but morphed into LB's philosophy (imho):
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/25/sports/basketball/25knicks.html GREENBURGH, N.Y., Oct. 24 - The disorientation wore off weeks ago. Forced to leap time zones (from Mountain to Eastern) and ratchet down expectations (by about 30 victories), Quentin Richardson smiled and said he welcomed the move from sunny Phoenix to gritty New York. The playing time at small forward has gone mostly to Ariza and the journeyman Matt Barnes, who appears likely to make the team after signing a nonguaranteed deal earlier this month. Neither Ariza nor Barnes have Richardson's gift for scoring, but they are better defenders. They also have the advantage of playing every day and learning Brown's system. "It'd be nicer if he was there," Brown said of Richardson. "But look at all the time Trevor's gotten to play and how much better he's gotten. And then Nate's gotten extra minutes. Jamal and Stephon have had to change roles a little bit because of him. So in some ways, it's been a blessing." The teacher in Brown has been practically giddy with his new team. Twelve of the 18 players on the roster are 25 or younger, which means Brown has probably stopped practice to point out mistakes even more often than usual. "Our whole team is made up of young kids," he said. "You have a responsibility to teach them and show them, and then the neat thing about that is, while you're telling those guys, your real conscientious veterans will listen and then they learn." Soon, however, the games will matter, and the Knicks - with a payroll exceeding $120 million - will be expected to win some of them. It could pose a quandary for Brown, who will have to choose between developing his young prospects on the fly, or playing his veterans while the rookies watch. The blueprint has already changed drastically since Brown took the job in July. Allan Houston has retired, and Tim Thomas and Mike Sweetney were shipped out in the Curry trade. As Brown noted on Monday, "This is not a team that we all knew from the first day." "If you had asked me the starting team when I first got the job, I thought it would be Jerome, Sweetney, Timmy Thomas and probably Stephon and Quentin," Brown said. "That was what I was led to believe. All of a sudden, things have really changed. And it's a good thing. I hate to see Sweetney and Timmy go, because they're really quality players, but we got a quality young kid who has huge upside. "But so much has changed now. Tony Davis is thrown in the mix. Quentin has been injured. The rookies probably played a lot more than maybe they would have, had we had everybody. So it's changed things." no doubt [Edited by - rvhoss on 10-25-2005 11:03 AM] [Edited by - rvhoss on 10-25-2005 11:04 AM] all kool aid all the time.

Q being injured means Barnes will make the team to backup Ariza.
I hope Q can come back quickly. ¿ △ ?
