no doubt...he's the total package...preferably starting next to Curry.

I love lee's energy off the bench.

I think this lee at SF talk is crazy when we have reezy and Q, but that's just MHO.

no doubt

Frye has shown that he may be the answer at the 4 spot. Those early comparisons to Sheed's offensive game are right on. Briggs is right, this guy can score about every trip up the floor if he really wanted too. I would say I would go with Butler at the 5 spot if Curry couldn't go some nites. He loves contact, rebounds, boxes out, and has a decent set of moves. A younger, taller version of Sweetney I think. Lee would be my energy bench guy and only playing at the 4 spot.

Frye needs to see what it's like to be in the lineup and he has the skill set to sheed it up...his weak side defense is what I coveted most coming out of college...add that to his ability to get up and down the court and score and he's BETTER THAN KURT THOMAS EVER WAS.

Face it...we're a much better team than last year...MUCH BETTER.

There are alot of different views to take on this so I'll just post the one I am seeing today.

I would probably start Frye at PF and Lee at SF and Bring Davis off the bench to tutor Curry. Lee's ball handling is better than Ariza's and neither can make an outside shot, pus Ariza will probably do better with a ruinning unit...I like

Steph
Q
Lee
Frye
Curry

and as a 2nd unit

Nate
Craw
Ariza
Butler
James

My starting lineup is as follow:
Marb, Q, Reezy or Lee, Frye, and Curry
or
Marb, Q, Reezy or Lee, Curry, and James at Center.

We don't need Mo nor Malik anymore. I would keep Malik around because of the ring that he earned with the Spurs.

Agree with joe's lineups. I like the front line of Lee, Frye and Curry. What martin said makes a lotta sense too. Antonio should start so that Frye doesnt pick up 2 retarded fouls in 5 seconds. For the first 2 months, A. Davis might be a better option to start over Frye at PF but I think by late December, Frye should be the starting PF.

Frye will be o.k..there is no reason to keep this dude on the bench. Okafor and Howard started immediately and flat out learned on the fly, the same must be done for our boys. Those old farts have had their chances already, now let the kids play. If they weren't worthy of the starting position, I would understand starting the vets, but Lee and Frye are better than any PFs that we currently have on our roster. Start Q at shooting guard, Lee at SF and Frye at PF...

I don;t know why a lot of you have Lee as a possible SF starter. The guy is big and can he guard small and fast 3's? Ariza can stay with them but I don't think Lee can at this point.

Between Lee and Reezy, one of them has to be our starting SF. The only reason I want Lee in there as our starter is because Lee is a much better passer than Reezy. TT (6'10") played the 3 and Lee can definitely do a much better job at that position than TT did last season.

I agree martin, lee played center at florida, he's more built to abuse the bigs with his speed, then get taken off the dribble by a quicker SF.

Ariza has earned that spot, especially if neither can shoot.

I like Lee's energy and he's 100% replaced Rose in that department...if Curry/Frye can develop a low post game, the MoT is expendable as well (I can't believe I just typed that).

OK, after a few cups of espresso...and reading some good posts...
Start AD and Curry. Unfortunately, I don't see a spot for Big Game anymore either (I can't believe I just typed that as well)

The problem is I'm not sure Lee is up to the nba grind, I mean, he's still a #30 pick. So he may end up being the odd man out with Frye, AD, Curry getting the big minutes.

Big Game is messing up my younger and athletic rotation.

Not after what Larry said about effort. In a Larry's system, to get minutes you have to play every game like it is the last...

Martin, Lee was recruited to Florida as a 6-2 Point Guard and he grew that 7 inches in college....I think that he can definately handle the 3...His ball handling is awesome...He would be a power 3 more along the lines of Maggette and Q (in LA), Artest, Iggy, even Caron Butler.

Before I saw Lee play I wanted him to man the 3 but I am just not sure he would be able to keep up with his man, especially if they ran the opposing SF off of a million picks and/or kept him on the outside. It may be a matchup thing though. Also, if Lee bulks up some, he would be more of a natural 4. We'll see.

Lee is very strong. I thought he was a bit light but I take it back. I think he's got good bulk and could bang with most 4s. Based on how pissed LB was with the defense and his statement about the guys that hustle will play regardless of status or reputation I wouldnt be shocked to see in the starting line up.

Thing is, there is nothing "natural" about Lee at the 4, IMO. I mean, his ball handling is great, and he seems to be more of an athlete-JYD type of game than a power Oak type of game. To me a "natural" power forward is, Oakley, Antonio Davis, Malone, Sweetney, Ben Wallace, Tim Duncan type of game. Lee's game to me is a hybrid game. He is definately strong enough to play the 4 but I bet he is alot faster than most of the bulky natural PF's out there.Lee may be a step slower than some SF's but he is also probably alot stronger and taller.

David will pose problems and tire out the bulky PF. Can also blow right by them and get them in foul trouble.

We might have to adjust, but OTHER TEAMS WILL HAVE TO ADJUST TO US!

Reezy might fill out to PF also! HE is only 20 still!

If Ariza is still growing, and continues to bulk up, he's make a wicked PF. That would one hell of a matchup problem for opposing teams...

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I give a super large prop to Isiah for not just drafting this kid but insisting that he get minutes! Not to Cannonize Isiah, or nominate him for sainthood, but this was the very bright spot of last season!
