oh... guess what. We wont have him this year, so I guess the 50 wins we *should* have are down the drain. Lets focus on getting these young guys playing well on both ends of the court and playing well together.

q rich and nate are more than compensation for houston...or does q not count for anything in your book?

your nonstop assumption that we suck is losing more and more steam every da...we should have won 42 last year and you know it.

curry is an improvement, TT won't be spoon fed anymore and we are much better coached.

when will u get it.

if we win 50 you should shut your mouth for good.

did the suns expect to win 50 last year? the griz the year before?

GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL.

last year was a fluke. why were we picked to win the atlantic?

jeez...your such a downer.

all kool aid all the time.

its only a downer for you. Most people seem OK with whatever wins and losses come so long as we are getting closer to the final goal.

LB's first year in Phili was a losing season also, a couple years later they were in the finals. Rarely do teams just become instant contenders, and young ones never do. There's a growth process. This isnt a video game where you can just add productive players and expect more wins.

Sorry if this hurts. Maybe we get lucky and win a bunch of games. I hope we do. Playoffs will be a good learning experience for this young team, even if they do get bounced early.

Last year we were picked to win the atlantic by default

I too have to say that I and everyone in the media thought that this team last year was at least a .500 team and might have won the Atlantic. Things just didn't workout, but I still feel the team underachieved. There's no need to go into all the things that went wrong, but I think we all know the team shouldn't have only won 33 games.

This year we do have a lot of youth. We should expect some ups and downs, but with Steph, Q & JC being the Vets they are, we shouldn't suffer at all from their spots. Curry isn't a rookie either, so I fail to see how this team should be at any real disadvantage. Even the other young players we have like Ariza, Frye, Nate & Lee, have at least played enough that they can contribute. Of course they have a lot to learn, but they won't be on the floor by themselves. We have enough Vets to keep things running smoothly.

I made a prediction of 46 wins, before the Curry trade and I think we can still do that and maybe more. LB will keep on these guys until they finally get it. I expect the team to start of slow and get better as the year goes along. I just hope like every season, that we can stay away from any major injuries.

I'm just saying last year was LB's first year in NY IMHO.

The team he took over in philly was a lottery team and they deserved it. We were an undeserving lottery team and we just had the longest and toughest camp in team history...Even the Bulls are saying TT and Sweetney had a cake walk camp in the past.

The tougher camp alone is 3 more wins. I feel we were a .500 team, last year and this year we should be 8 to 10 games better than .500.

So, buckle up little soldier, the knicks are NOT as bad as they appear. And I'm not even looking through rose colored glasses.

If I were, I'd be preaching Eastern Conference Championship game...i'm only talking rough second round loss to detroit or Miami.

Go knicks.

I never said they were bad. Never.

I said they were very good actually, and very talented, but that having talent alone doesnt equate to wins in the NBA. But the talent is there, so enjoy the maturation process. And if we dont win 50 games dont get your panties in a bunch... it will happen eventually

I'm with Fish. I think a lot of people are hoping for a Phoenix like revival. Although I can say I'm rooting for that, that is not the only thing that will make me happy. Progress will make me happy. I went from Spoon/Shandon/Howard/Felton/Dice/TT/Doleac/KVH to a team where the coach is complaining about how young and stupid they are. They could go 0-82 and I would consider it progress.

Enough with this freaking argument. We can't be any worst than we were last season. We now have a frontline, and most of all, we have a coach that has just coached his team all the way to the finals twice in a row. Last season, we didn't have a postup player in our starting lineup, this season, we have more than 3....Last season, we didn't have a shotblocker, this season, we have more than 3.....Look, you can't compare Larry to Lenny or Herb....

dido... do you measure our success next year in wins, or in the progress the young players make?

I would say both to be fair, but its like 70/30 in favor of how the young guys play

Success to me is both also. I just want a much better product than what we have had on the court the last few years. We have been a horrible defensive squad for a good 3 years now and that has to stop. The addition of Larry and the other new guys will help erase that bad taste in my mouth.

Knicks basketball was synonimous to blue color/no nonsense/bruising defense/etc, but the last 3 years we have lost our identity. Fugazy (Martin) and others have proved that we were pushovers....That to me was embarassing.

This team has a lot to learn. Personally I'm expecting playoffs but that's not the most important thing to me. Playoffs is not our ultimate goal a championship is. I would just be happy to see the young guys develop, Stephon developing leadership skills, Jerome James turning down a meatball sub. That to me is more important than 45 wins.

In my opinion, it doesn't matter what lineup we have on the court, it will produce....

I think the NY media is blowing it up a little bit more than they have to. LB been coaching this way his whole career. But because its in NY it gets more attention because thats how NY is. We are young and he does have to coach more here than Detroit, but he would be doing the same thing anywhere he was coaching. I also think he is purposly trying to lower expectations a little early so knowing how fast the media will react to negative or positive. Have the media thinking a little lower expectations then they should while as the coach hold higher expectations seceretly.

Brown ALWAYS gets plenty of attention, it's just that we're paying attention more closely now that he's a Knick. But it was the same when he was in Philly and Indy. Less so in Detroit because that team was pretty much ready to win it all when he got there (least once they added Sheed it was). But he's always been a nervous detail freak who thinks the team isn't paying enough attention and predicting loses. it's his nature. it's all great coaches nature.
