Frye is perfect to play alongside Curry. Frye's midrange game is so developed. He's already a good Pick & Roll/Pop player. He has range on his shot out to 3 pt territory. He has good hands and is a good passer. He will allow Curry to have room in the paint and that will open up Frye's game.

The presence of James and Curry takes the burden off Frye to produce right away and will allow him to play more on the perimeter.

I am just enamored with the frontcourt that we currently have. If Marb doesn't take his game to another level this upcoming season, he will never do so again. All of our big men are athletic and are good finishers. Whatever Curry and James are lacking, Frye, Lee and Mo can provide...

I ranked the draft

Bogut
Bynum
Granger

so forget anyone else, ok we didnt take Bynum, but if there is a basketball professional from the NY Knicks who believes that Danny Granger isnt a better player than Channing Frye, you are on hallucinatic drugs. People keep spewing about this guy Gerald Green this etc..and that guy, but the real steal of the draft was Granger dropping to 17--he was a top 3 player and worse, he went to the pacers.

Briggs - you ranked the draft about 100 times. You constantly second guess the Knicks management but you change your mind about every other day. When you were high on Green you didn't even have granger ranked ahead of him - YOUR POST:

"If I had to rank them it would be
Green << NOTICE WHO WAS SPEWING GERALD GREEN.
Granger
Webster
Wright
the other two, despite their size, are 2 Gs"

Yeah I had green high after the mcd game and he iS a high caliber prospect, but that wasnt a draft list you are pointing out and in my own mock draft which i can show you, i had green falling to orlando at 11. i had bogut number 1 on every draft list i made, that must be a compilation of wing players right after mcd--list the whole post next time, not a piece of the pie.

Frye was a mistake no matter how we look at it.

C'mon guys it really is funny to have such negative opinions of Frye before he's even played.

My belief is still that talented mobile athletic 6'11" guys with developed offensive games are worth ther weight in gold and I still think that he was a great pick. I'll find out if I was right or not.

I'm not hating on the decision to draft Frye.....Knicks need size. Frye has alot of KT in him except he is about 3 inches taller with at least 5"-8" inches more on the vertical jump. Nice replacement.

Still Isiah has to get better. Who knew he would get 2 players he coveted? Isiah is a Hustler.....you can't Knock the Hustle!!

If we knew we were getting Curry, I would've taken Granger to play SF and not traded KT, but hindsight is 20/20. If you believe Zeke, he thought Frye was the best option there. Let's let him prove it on the court.

Frye is the power forward of the future for us. Athletic and quick, long lean and will be hard to guard. He is not Karl Malone.

Curry is the center. James is nothing but a back up glorified by the knicks and kool aid drinking fans hopeful he will get much better. We were so pathetic at the center he was the only choice. Maybe Mo T and Rose are the present, but Frye can be the future.

Scratch that, I still make the Kurt trade since it brought us Nate. Whatever...I'm content with the team as constructed now for the first time in a while.

Listen to Briggs if you want...He's the one that said Wilcox AND our very own SWEETNEY were going to be STARS in the league

Heck yeah hindsight is 20/20 so this woulda shoulda is all moot. Furthermore, what is wrong with having depth? Say Curry is sidelined again? Say James can't stop fouling out? I'd rather have a young 6'11 Frye than Nar Mohammed or creaky old KT to come in and pull some emergency minuted at C. And who knows, maybe Garnett shakes loose from Minny and wants to be traded. Doesn't it help to have Frye there to help swing a deal? We got the best, most NBA ready, prospect we could at the position. Granger was rumored to be hurt. Green was too Green. He talks like he has an IQ of 2. Bynum was the only other guy I woulda considered at that spot. We weren't taking Diogu when we still had Sweetney. No GM has the benefit of knowing what the future holds. Coming from where we were, we needed long and athletic. We needed high IQ. We needed good passing. We were shaping up for LB. We got LB now. We even landed Curry. This was a near perfect offseason. 2nd guessing is pointless.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Briggs,
I sorry didn't mean to suggest that was your draft order. I was just pointing out that you're knocking people for "spewing this guy Gerald Green" - when you were one of the main instigators on this board. So far in your posts you've had bogurt averaging something like 18 and 11 his first year and improving to have better numbers then duncan. You have Bynum as the best thing since slice bread. Green at one point was the second coming of McGrady. Now it's Granger. You've hyped so many guys it gets confusing. Yeah - I'm sure you'll be right on one of 'em - then knock the Knicks for not taking him -but you give yourself enough chances to be right. The knicks only get to draft once.

I am not sold on Bynum he has a lot to learn. A kid on my AAU team this summer destroyed him everytime they played against each other, so Bynum has alot to learn. Green is a great athlete but not sold on his skills. Frye is a skilled big man and he will be fine

amen kam...some of you sound like red sox fans BEFORE they won last year...nothing but gloom and doom and second guessing.

That's just the way it will be.

But to second guess the roster we have based on the roster Zeke inherited (and the fact he's been on the job less than 3 years) is pretty crazy.

it's like you don't want the knicks to be successful unless they are successful.

This isn't a fantasy team, this is real life, and right now, we are set at all positions and have depth at all positions.

Until another player drafted AFTER frye gets to the all star game before frye...we made the right choice.

frye was the best player available. And IMHO the best player for the knicks, LB and New York City.

Keep it hot, Hoss! They can't handle the truth!

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

My fault last summer and yes my guy dominated him in every facet of the game. Sorry Briggs made the mistake.
