according to the realGM Bulls guys, Sam Smith said on ESPN radio that ADavis will be released once the season starts so he can go back to Chicago. let's see Zeke mention expiring deal when he does that one... heh...

http://realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=420663

The NYT article said the following:

"Other details of the deal remained hazy. The Bulls initially wanted the Knicks to waive Davis so they could re-sign him. But the Knicks may now want to keep Davis."

^ What did I say bitches.

Who called that one?

ME, THAS WHOO!
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Craw/Nate
Marb/Houston
Q/Ariza/Penny
Davis/Frye/Rose/Lee
Curry/James/Taylor

Frye and Curry cannot play together until they start grabbing more rebounds. Despite decreased productivity, Davis is still a capable big body who can defend and rebound for limited mins. He played for Larry Brwon in Indiana in the 90s so he's no stranger to Larry's coaching. A good vet to have for a season. It'd be dumb to release him.

The line up is so flexible and interchangable, it's awesome. Larry can create mismatches using different lineups.

I like this Curry deal. Now I just pray that Houston comes back and contributes, and that everyone stays healthy. It's a matter of time that this team with "great youth/experienced vets/great coaching" will start to mesh and play good entertaining basket ball.

If Curry turns into a PF this trade made no sense.
Well, I want him to play center and become a really good one, no matter who starts this year,
For the PF spot it is a very difficult one. I don't have a clue, since everyone is good. Frye, Taylor, Rose or Davis can start. Definately Lee wont start now.

Good; I want to keep AD. He's still a solid role player with a great attitude and has a great expiring contract.

That would be a sizeable blow to lose Davis-that would posibly alter my thinking in terms of what we can do. even though davis is 36-37--he certainly has a quality 2-3 years left and he has what we need, a muscular 6-9 245 who can defend and rebound--even if he is his here only for this year while perhaps Lee puts on some muscle and learns the game to replace him, he pretty much is invaluable right now-we really need him--id like to see if we can keep him for 2-3 years, even in a 15 minute role--or atleast until Frye and Lee are proven. Its like having an Oakley and you need atleast 1 Oakley. We paid enough in this trade --I think its fair we keep him--Chicago wouldve gotten sht for Curry

It makes sense Davis goes back. He moved there because of family and I doubt we want to give him minutes anyway.

I see mo T getting significant minutes, perhaps starting. This is why he was bought here. I see Frye getting maybe 8 min per game until he otherwise proves himself. this is not a bad thing as much as just bringing a young player along.

Just debating who's going to be the starting center is exciting to me! We finally have 2 legitimate big bodies in there! I really felt that we'd never see the day after trading away our only center in Nazr (with whom I was never thrilled, but he was decent).
I say, start Curry, and JJ off the bench.
As for PF, I see Brown going with AD or Rose. We need rebounding there.
So great to have such a deep roster. No longer feel paralyzed. We've got lots of servicable parts, and lots of flexibility to make future trades. Now if only H20 would retire and Mo T's nasty contract could get fixed.

Best thing is: FUGAZY's GONE! Later, sucker! I'm going to enjoy the season that much more not seeing his stupid lazy ass!

It's gonna be Curry and Rose...bank on it. LB will want some defense and rebounding somewhere in the lineup. The only way this changes is if Frye dominates in the preseason.

BTW, I'm going on the assumption that Davis is bought out...

Can this be right?

http://www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/knicks/ny-sptrade044454179oct04,0,7142413.story?
...It's likely that Curry will start at power forward next to James, but he can easily slide to center when James is on the bench.

I saw that too. I think everyone is just guessing right now. What Isiah wants to do will probably be different from what Brown wants to do. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I see we all are coming up with some good guesses, some more popular than others.

IMO, Big Game James at C and Curry at PF will be our new Twin Towers.

Damn... As much as I was looking forward to training camp, after this, I can't help but wish that the season started TODAY.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

If AD is staying, I bet he starts at the 4, with Curry at the 5.

You can't have Curry & James on the floor together- neither can board or stay out of foul trouble.

Curry & AD

James & Mo T

I think that is the ideal combo

Gee, where does that leave Channing? Does he play the Darko role this year?

You think that'll be the case after Larry Brown's training camp?

Curry/James/Frye James is a backup!
Mo T./Rose/Frye/lee
Reezy/Q/Lee
Marbs/H20/Q
Craw/Nate

This is to start.

Curry goes 30 min, James 10-15, Frye 5-8min
Mo.T 20 min, Rose 18, Lee 10. Injury will happen here, Frye will get minutes here, as could curry if James can go 20!

SF: Lack of shooting worries me, Q can get minutes here unless lee starts shooting.

SG: Marbs will play 35 min. H20 could factor in marbsplaying point if healthy. Q can get min here and we can go big. I do see Q setting up outside and let Nate penetrate and kick it out.

Point: Craw if this is actually what Larry wants. Marbs of course can get min here, and nate gets 8min to start with.

Jackie Blue gets sent to minors, and Hardaway is in Siberia.
So...who starts at center and power forward?
