Reezy and Lee could be special players. We all talk about developing young players, and Reezy and Lee could be special for years to come. You don't just add them to a throw in trade. TT can help the bulls alot this year as Deng's injury still may need time to heal, and they are thing at the sF. I hate giving up sweets, but that is something we can afford to move. A no. 1 pick, (not ours) is enough. What else can the bulls get for him? Don't fold Isiah! We have the leverage as the bulls get some nice pieces for a huge question mark. We are the only team that can afford to make this kind of gamble in Curry!

Since we only compare white players to other white players, Lee can be another Bobby Jones type player. Reezy has Star potential.

WE trade Sweets cuz the bulls needa big back. Not cuz he was not drafted by Isiah.

Marion and Pippen are elite players so I wont go there.

I think Ariza does have a decent handle. I think he's an above average passer and he's shown that when he attacks the basket and the loane closes he can dish to the open man. He's probably 2-3 years away from having a reliable jumper, but I have no doubt a guy with his coordination can get at least a servicable jump shot.

He's the thing:
He's 20
He plays his ass off on both ends
He gets better and shows something new each month he plays
He's versatile in what he can do on defense and getting more so on offense
Closest thing to a health issue is asthma which is a managable condition for an adult.

Seems to me like this is the kind of player we want to collect, not to give up.

I like Curry and his upside but his value is at an all time low. To me guys like Ariza and Sweetney arent throw ins.

thats another thing. They are high enough on JJ to have signed him for all they can give for 5 years. So why would you trade your starting PF in a trade for another center, unless your conceding having just payed $30mm for 5 years for a guy to come off the bench. It would be typical Knicks, but you hope for more under new management

Curry can be our starting PF instead, especially when JJ is in the game. Frye can be the PF when JJ is resting. One thing that you have to remember, Curry is not in shape.

I think the JJ signing was necessary . They had to have someone with size to man the post at least part of the game. I think the size of his contract is going to turn out to be reasonable. And if the Curry deal doesn't go through, JJ's the man.

If we get Curry, I think that we could look at something like JJ getting up to 24 min. at center, Curry getting 24 at C and 12 at PF and Frye up to 36 at PF. You'd also figure in Rose and Taylor, maybe Butler and HOPEFULLY Lee.

i'm not a proponent of trading ariza. i'm just asking if we will miss him that much if we move him in a curry deal? i guess i just didn't convey it well in my original post.

IMHO reezy has more upside than curry. I would miss him everytime Curry got a DNP Coaches decision

you think every Knick has more upside than any non-Knick. No offense but its not exactly an objective opinion

I think management is looking at Frye and Curry starting side by side for the next ten years. Obviously, a huge gamble with Curry's heart, but it could be a great tandem. I've compared Frye to Chandler several times, I think he'd fit pretty well with Curry as long as they both improve their rebounding.

To me, I'd much rather be chasing Curry seriously than Kwame Brown. There's that at least.

Also, I think Ariza will be an all-star in two or three years. I think he's a little behind Deng and Igoudala right now, but I think in the long run he'll be the best of that bunch. I'd hate to lose him.

great post nalod. when I look at lee and reezy, I see smart players who not only have the desire but the ability, the ability to fufull their potential and the desire to work to get where their ability can take them. To me that is rare in a athlete. We can get this deal done without any of these kids and if we can't, just walk away and see if the bulls get a better offer elsewhere.. For once the knicks are in a situation to raise some good young talent, no need using them as throw ins...
