He most def. is our future.
Thats a sad sad sad sad sad future for the New York Knicks. There is no chance in hell we win a championship if Ariza is the best player on the Knicks.

Ariza is pretty overrated/popular here on ultimate.

who is saying he is the best player? but to say that ariza isnt something special is crazy.

if someone is our future then he is our best player. You can say he is part of our future which is different. The bottomline is Ariza is not that special a player. Maybe here on ultimate he is but the guy didn't even make the frickin rookie allstar game and his play certainly didn't improve late in the season, he actually got worse.

bobs3304, the guy I replied to said "He most def. is our future." This means, in the future he will be our best player.
but to say that ariza isnt something special is crazy.
Something special? Are we talking Dwight Howard/Okafor special, are we talking Al Jefferson/Josh Smith special? How about Loul Deng? I think calling Ariza him special is crazy. IMO, he is good and might play a role on a good team but to rest our future on him is crazy.

maybe Josh Smith is overrated and not "something special" but Howard, Okafor and Al Jefferson are what "something special" means.

no ariza or lee.. if the bulls can't take the pick, then IT needs to walk away!!!

why? lee was the last pick in the 1st round... you dont think isiah could find another player like him next yr with a better pick?

don't let the position he was picked dictate how good the kid can be, josh Howard was picked at 30.... look at how he turned out... I like lee, I think he can do well in this system with larry brown..

Its amazing to me how many people care about the money the Knicks spend. WHY? As long as you are getting the players you want and they are capable of helping this team win, I fail to see what the big deal is.

I'm sure the contract will be incentive laiden as a bit of protection. I'm sure that the Knicks have checked out all of his medical info as well. The thing is I think his health issues have been overstated. I think he's going to go on to have a good career after this. Adding him to this team would solidify the roster for years to come. If you're going to take a chance this is the kind of player you do that with.

agreed. I'd give up Ariza before Lee who is a lot more experienced, polished and smarter on the court and has a pretty good jumpshot whereas Ariza's is just awful. Lee has a much better chance at succeeding under Brown. Ariza might not even get playing time if he continues to play out of control

We've seen Ariza for one year for 15 mpg as a 19 year old. To say you can actually tell me how he'll be based on that is crazy. Some people say he's Shawn Marion of the future. But he can also easily be Shandon Anderson at BEST. We just don't know. But my predictions are he'll be a nice rock solid player and maybe 16, 17 and 7 or 8 in his best year with a steal or so a game. I'll take that, and maybe he's not THE future, but he's certainly PART of our future. A piece of the core.

Relax guys.

I meant Ariza is our future. Not that he's a phenom, but that he will become a pivotal player for us in the future.

Stop reading too much into it.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Ariza was a top 10/top15 pick from his year and he was a mid second rounder...

Didn't you say Ariza would be the next Magic Johnson on a separate thread?

If Ariza is traded in order to aquire Eddie Curry, I will not watch any Knicks games for the whole season. Just imagine Ariza coming off the bench for the already defensive minded Bulls. It would be a better trade for them than it would be fore us.

Wow, there is a lot more love for Ariza than I thought. Either way, I hope it ends up in the Knicks favor.

totally. it'd be painful to see ariza giving 15-20 minutes of athletic play and lockdown defense at 19 for the Bulls as Deng and Nocioni's backup.

That would suck for us.

If the NY Post is reporting trade talks it's not happening, you can bank on it. Curry will re-sign with the Bulls.

Its not my fault that (Eddie (not Steph)) Curry was never healthy enough to play

so here is what phil is thinking ....
