Guys, stop eating and disecting every single phrase and turning it inside and out and commenting on the intent or puncuation!
Funny, that would mean we stop posting till there is plenty more news. That same line can apply on majority of the threads throughout the offseason.

Nothing Knick related at least.

Larry is just trying to generate some excitement. The way I see it, he is perhaps trying to fuel Marb's desire to be a greater basketball player. His comments about Houston is simply what it is. In my opinion, Larry is just trying to use reverse psychology with both Houston and Marb. If Houston feels that he can't be at his best to please Brown, those statements alone can force him to retire. As for Marb, he will be forced to bring his best to the table every night on both ends of the court, which is something that Houston was never able to do. Marb is much more talented than Houston ever was, and Larry knows it.

I don't see this interview as cause for alarm. Maybe he judges the best player by who is paid the most. I look at whatever Allan can contribute as an added bonus at this stage of things. This team can and will get it on, with or without Allan Houston. Larry's good enough to get the benefit of the doubt IMO. Let's wait until training camp starts and see how things come together before the season opener.

Full steam ahead, onward to training camp! KNICKS.
honestly, the games when allan played were amazing. the knicks looked great. my favorite game was the knicks vs orlandough game played back in december. just great ball movement. just great game. the first half was amazing as the knicks had a 60 - 30/40 something lead at the break - flat out ball. just amazing. allan brought great ball movement to the knicks and everything clicked with the team when allan was in there. when he was out it's like every game was just an all out scramble / scrimmage.

That was early on in the season. This year, we have much better talents and we will not need Houston, especially if he can't stay healthy.

The Media just wants to start trouble already. They'll be looking for any little instance to use as a headline. They can't wait to drive a wedge between LB and Steph.
This is a direct quote from Larry Brown.
``They started out pretty darn good, but when you lose an Allan Houston, you know, your best player, it's pretty difficult to overcome that,'' Brown said.
This means, we need to depend on Allan Houston to stay "pretty darn good." This means we can look forward to more depending on Allan Houston and our entire season depends on his injury prone knees. This means we are moving backward instead of forward.

This has nothing to do with the media wanting to drive a wedge between Brown and Steph. This has to do with Larry Brown saying something he better not mean or we are F**KED

Everyone needs to realize that Larry might have also made these statements so that if the team fails to meet expectations - i.e. playoffs, he has a built in excuse that Houston was busted and MIA (not where the Heat play at).

YEah, the Philly comeback when JYD looked like Dr. J and allan hit the jumper! How do you retire if you can still do it? Gotta give it one more go!

Ands Larry gets to phuch with stephs mind. Isiah and Larry, two great points, two great minds just sitting around and plotting on how to make Steph even greater. But Steph will fight it kicking and screaming.

Frankly, I could care less about what Houston did a few years back. The question is will he able to help the Knicks this season?

The Knicks have used Houston's injury sparring as excuse. I mean I give them more credit than that. I remember the playoff series against the Nets, no one would allow the Knicks to use Houston's injury as an excuse but when Kidd goes down, the Nets and the rest of the media used it. I think that is media vs. IT thing though. I think LB is thinking about the Summer Olympics to be honest. Wasn't he the same guy who said how this team needs Houston and Redd, pure jump shooters. Not surprising that he still believes it.
As far Houston being more of a clutch player, I don't see it. For his game 5 99 Miami series, I can offer his game 7 97 Miami series to counter. Or his 99 Indiana series vs. his 00 Indiana series. For every big shot he hit, he probably has just as many turnovers in the final seconds.

Looks like Larry is giving us an indication that he's isn't too fond of Marbury..

That would be so dumb considering that they haven't even played one game this year. (I'm not saying it's inaccurate; just saying it's very dumb.)

Started during the olympics and it looks like he hasn't changed his felling towards Marbury..
Brown, i think just doesn't like Marbury's game especially when he don't even play D..
