I wouldn't give up an expiring contract for Curry. The exp. contracts need to be part of a deal landing a better player with less risk than Curry.

Q-Rich + Sweetney for Curry would def. entice them.

I agree that is what it would probably take.

thats overpaying... I said in another thread all Sweetney needs is minutes. He's better then Curry and destroyed him in h2h play.

^ Is it overpaying?...............yes

Is it necessary if the opportunity is there .................yes
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

too much for a player with heart problems and who is 7ft and huge but can't average over 6rebs and a block a game. Curry for Sweetney + Spurs 1st rounder. Take it or leave it!

I agree. I'll trade Sweets if they HAVE too and that first round pick but thats as far as I'm going. I'm really interested to see what Sweets will do this year, I atleast want to give him a shot as the featured player in the post and see what he does with it. BUT, if the Bulls were going to take Sweetney and the Spurs 1st rounder then I couldnt say no. Curry is established downlow and would be a perfect compliment to Frye.

rebounding would be a disaster. Big Game isn't good enough to make a difference. Man a frontline of Curry/Frye would really struggle rebounding. Hopefully Frye surprises everyone with his rebounding. I'm contemplating whether I would give up our #1 pick. i don't think the Spurs pick wil be enough. If we're going to be in that 15 pick range, which we likely will be if we make or just make the playoffs, then I don't mind trading that pick for Curry at all. That pick would never get playing time on the Knicks. I doubt this team with Larry Brown coaching will get anything higher than a 10-12th pick.

So lets make it Sweetney + our 2006 pick. Chances of landing a player as good as Curry that late are very slim. Do it!

Well Bobs. Since Curry hasn't signed yet we have no idea WHAT HIS CONTRACT WILL BE. It could be a small contract or it could be a 5m per, as of right now I'm going to treat his contract situation like I see it, a player who is just coming off a heart problem so my thought his contract will be rather small and probably a 2 or 3 year deal and then he'll cash in if he's still healthy.

The main critical point that I see that we're hardly focusing on is that Curry's contract won't be insured. That's why I think that there's a chance of a S&T (minus any Sweetney nonsense). I'd consider discussing a Q plus picks for Curry deal. But actually going through with it is another story. Nevertheless, Curry's contract not being insured is a major major component to speculation about a trade possibility. Most teams will stay away from Curry's contract situation but it's talor made for the kinda loot in Cablevisions cofers

There are possibilities.

Isnt Eddy Curry someone who averages 5 to 6 rebounds, less than one block a game and is many times huffing and puffing and dissapearing at the end of games?

I hardly see the point of aquiring him. I think he's an overated Marc Jackson. As far as a post presence, sure. But defensively and the as far as other stats go, I don't think he's all that good.

If we got him for Mo Taylor than Id go for it, otherwise I'll live with who we got.

toodark.. he'd matured last season and was playing good ball.. he's only 22/23 yrs. old. It's worth the gamble for shooting guard, IMO.

We keep talking like we have a chance to get Duncan or Shaq, so we should hold out for them or something. Man wake up. We have to take guys who have some flaws cuz we aren't getting anyone better than that. WHO is it that we should be getting if we don't try to get players like Curry? How are we going to get these mystery All Star Centers or PF's?

Goodness Sakes! If we can get Curry and not kill our roster to do it, we have to take a chance on young improving talent. The number of players who can come here and make an impact, pushing us into title contention is VERY small. Off the top of my head, you've got KG & Curry as guys who may be available, but KG is a LOOOONG SHOT. Curry seems to be a more likely target. He's no KG, but really do we expect to get a player on that level.

Craw? They don't need a point. Sweets? they don't need a forward.

Can 't just sign him, cuz we don't got spit to offer. Not much to trade salary wise. 3 way always available.

I say we pass. Let him die on some one elses floor!

I think Q Rich and a pick for Curry could work... I guess including Sweets is overshooting it a bit, but usually you have to overpay in this type of situation...

I agree with getting Curry. He has a tremendous upside. We don't need TT, Q Rich, J Craw, or Sweetney. Package any one of them with a draft pick and let's do it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Yeah, but if dies at MSG, the exposure could save many more lives than if he did it anywhere else.

He'll be fine. Go get him.

Wow....I would think Q is more than enough for Curry, let alone adding a first round pick WITH Q. If Curry is so valuable why did ATL turn him down and not even offer him a contract (granted he left the meeting with them days early). There is absolutely no way I deal one of our guards, at all for Curry. I wouldn't trade any of them as that position is our greatest strength. Maybe if we absolutely knew Allan was coming back 100% I may consider Crawford for Curry....Any other guard is overpaying.

I don't see why Chi-Town needs a guy like Q anyway. I mean they are stacked at guard with Duhon, Kirk, and Gordon. They are stacked at the swing position with Deng, and Nocioni at the 3 and 4. All things being equal (and by Equal I mean that hypothetically if Curry didn't have a heart condition) I would definately trade Sweets str8 up for him. Maybe I would add a second rounder. Or the 2nd first rounder this year coming up.

As of now however, Curry is not worth an extremely promising guard like Q (can you tell I like Q....I wanted him more than Crawford last year)Curry is worth no more than expiring contracts and picks to me. Even though we have one true center on the roster. An unproven true center. Who only really came on in his last few games. Like his last 6 games.

At this point I only trade Curry for Sweets if we get
at LEAST conditional 1st round pick and I would even accept if getting this fiorst round pick was based on Curry's health.

We know EXACTLY what it is--It's that thing that other teams have to worry about!
