Guys, I think we can ALL agree we have alotta holes still, and that while Wallace would be nice, its not gonna make or break us anytime soon.

We need the obvious - a powerhouse big man.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Humility and accountability. These are traits he should learn. Magic Johnson, the best PG ever, knew this. Zeke was loved by his teammates because he was all about the team. With Stephon it is never his fault.

I think I am in the minority about moving Steph to the SG AND having Craw as the starting point. First off, the shooting guard position is gonna be more prone to be killed on defense than when Allan was there. That's with Craw or Marbs there, b/c Marb never was a good defender in the first place, then put him where all the much taller guys are. Not good. Also, Craw is just too skinny to play SG on defense. He needs to be a PG. He has the skills and Larry can definitely help him out more. The guy is smart. I'd much rather we start Marbury and Q at the guard with Craw coming off the bench, or we trade Marb to even out the roster and use him to search for that young big we desperately need.

Are you kidding me. Weaker at D at the 2 spot. Hey I understand Allan's your guy but come on, don't make him more myth than man. His defense was, is and will be absolutely horrible. I always said that Spree should demand a percentage of Allan's 100 million. The ironic part of it all, is that some of the guys he had the most trouble with are now his teammates. That is what scares me the most about Houston's possible comeback is that his defense could be possibly worst.
That was my reaction too. He thought I didn't watch the Knick games because I merely claimed that Sweetney's low post skills need a lot of work and he thinks Allan Houston's defense was better than Marbury's at the 2? I don't see how any who did watch the Knicks over the years could think Houston did anything on D better at any position (PG/SG or C for that matter) than Marbury would do.

Prove me otherwise. It will be a disaster at the 2 position on defense. And I never said Allan was a good defender BTW. I was pointing how just HOW BAD it would be. Marbury didn't concentrate nearly enough on defense. In fact, I believe he even said he will take his breaks on defense. I don't go by what people SAY, but that was assinine. So Marbury didn't concentrate on D at the PG position and got schooled by guys like Earl Watson. Now, watch him go against the Rip Hamiltons? If his D is the same as last, it's gonna get worse.

I'm not that worried to be honest. I think Marbury is better against bigger player that he can be physical with. I think the quicker guys just piss him off and he doesnt work hard enough to keep them in front of him.

So long as guys play well, I could care less. I like Crawford at PG much more than I dislike Marbury at SG. I guess thats the best thing I could say about the move.

When Crawford has the ball in his hands he's making more moves to the basket, more midrange jumpers, more playmaking and less bombing from 3.

Is it against the rule for him not to grant interview???? Because if it's not, he needs to stop talking to the media.

just b/c marbury plays the 2 on offense doesn't mean he's going to guard the 2 on defense. If you have a 6'2 point guard and a 6'6 shooting guard on the other team you put crawford on the 2 and marbury on the 1 on defense...the shooting guard move is just so that marbury becomes the focal point of the offense since he's our best scorer.

^ You'll have a mismatch no matter what.

Which is why, if we don't trade Crawford or Q, then Q has to play alot of time at the 3, even though he should be playing the 2.

Alot still has to be figured out.

Personally, I think we should be going after a tall, physical, defensive PG that is pass-first. Maybe Payton, although he's way past his prime. Hmmmm, I bet Payton would've been a perfect Knick back in the day. Cut from the same cloth as Spree...

Well I agree, but it's the same as having marbury at the 1 and crawford at the 2...they're both bad defenders, but just because marbury will be playing the 2 on offense doesnt mean hell be GUARDING the 2

steph's potential = better players around him and a better coach.

marv - once again you calm a torrential soul.

i agree 100%. why i posted what i did was b/c i was sick and tired of defending marbury to knicks fans at work (the same fans that take isola's words as fact). i had to do the same with ewing. whenever steph opens his mouth, he pretty much saying "f ck you san diego" (anchorman). for once, i'd like him to say the right thing.

but same thing happened to iverson. he said some crazy stuff, and he got dissed for it. but only until he won, did people get off his back.

That explains alot. You are excited about this because you are constantly put in a position to defend him by guys on your job, and they keep bitching and moaning about every little thing. This is so not a big deal.

They would complain if he didn't say anything. You can't win.
