The Knicks are the only team that can trade for KG and Wally and still have a stacked team. The Knicks would have plenty of players still available to fal back on if KG were to finally show signs of injury concern.

The sooner Minnesota goes through with the trade the better. The Knicks have plenty of future draft picks.....the Knicks have solid veternas to fill out their front court. The Knicks have good youth coming in, plus the Knicks have Timmy and Penny's expiring contracts.

KG is ours.....I don't know what is taking so long. Minnesota will be set for the future with whatever packedge the Knicks send out.

We're not exactly stacked with picks- correct me if I am wrong, but don't we still potentially 'owe' a pick to the Suns for the Marbs deal. And San Antonio's pick next year isn't exactly enticing when it might be the last in the first round.

I think KG could play for another five years-

And for all the people saying KG has never carried his team, the same thing is said about Ewing not winning it all.

That stuff is over rated- you need talent and you need it from all five positions.

Look what Kobe did last year- didn't even make the playoffs.

Shaq and four scrubs ain't winning anything.

TD doesn't win this year without Manu & SuperStar role player Horry.

I'd be happy just to watch winning, competitive basketball.

Give me this line up

JJ
KG
Ariza
Q
Marbs

If the bench & youth aren't depleted, we are a team that now has a chance of getting to the finals.

You need a trio of dominant players and 2 role players to win. Most of the time.

One must be a sharpshooter.

I'd kinda agree with you there- the question becomes whether Ariza can become that third impact player, a la Prince in detroit...

and yea, unless wally is here, not much for lethel outside shooting unless you count the bricks that Q & Jamal toss up...

It has nothing to do with records.......

If Toronto were to trade for KG they would completely gut out the team and would not be able to put out a decent team around KG.

The Knicks could trade Timmy, Mo Taylor, Sweets and draft picks for KG and Wally and still have Rose, Channing, Lee, Jerome James and Butler.......that is what I would call "stacked" smart ass!!!

Even if the Knicks had to give up Ariza and (dare I say it)Nate Robinson the Knicks perimeter would still be formidable.

What is the hold up with this KG trade? Make it happen.

Aging superstar, with gargantuan contract and aching knees...

seems like a perfect fit for the NY knicks!!!!

Garnett has aching knees? And he's aging? Since when did these factors occur?

This would be an absolute dream for all Knicks fans. Like Bobs said, I don't know how much truth there is to this rumor but if it is true then all we can do is hope that maybe it will go down.

He I didn't create this article. Garnett will soon be 30, and they say his knees have been giving him trouble. turning 30, bad knees, and a cap killing contract are a bad combination for a NBA player and any team he is on.... But for the knicks this would be par for the course.... sign him up!!

This is nothing but a wet dream. When KG comes to NY, pigs will fly and deliver pizza to your home.

So, basically, the only player in the NBA you would be happy trading for is LeBron James?

Cuz pretty much everyone else has either had surgery, has aching joints/limbs, doesnt play defense, is tooo short, too tall, too fat, too thin, too pretty, too soft, too hard, too nice, too crazy or is too plain good for the Knicks.

Dude, if there is any chance, ANY chance of getting a 30 yo ex league MVP who has averaged 25-12-5-2-2 over the past few years, you dont wait and talk to your inhouse surgeon. Unless he's in the operating room right now getting his leg cut off, you trade for him.

Buit this is the Knicks. I expect some people would would be mad as hell if we trade for LeBron cuz of his inexperience. I mean, he cant even take a team with an All-Star center on it to the playoffs. Hah!! What kinda player is that!!

We dont need no MVP!! Lets get Drew Gooden instead. He's younger and has better knees.

Stoopid.

Interesting trade idea. If we could get KG for expiring contracts, it would make for a great deal (even with the filler). I'd do that trade in a second.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Hey I love KG, but it just seems like the knicks always try to get these guys after the other team has gotten the best out of them. Kg has a huge deal, hasn't really won anything, is turning 30( which is not old, but I thought we were going younger) and if it is true that he has aching knees, isn't that a big risk for a guy who has a cap killing contract. I don't need to have KG right now, not for what it will cost us..

How is that Stupid?

the same can be said for marbury... I don't see how we'd turn down a trade for garnett, he's still dominant and has at least another 5-6 years left ...he's a top 3 player.

this is assuming this article isn't made up. Marbury is two years younger than KG. People are also forgetting that KG is a horrible teammate who gets into fights with everyone. How many teammates has he punched in training camp?

Actually Marbury is only 9 months younger than KG, and people haven't said the greatest things about MArbury after he left, and every team he leaves is better without him...regardless if he is replaced by a Kidd or Nash, the team completely turns around with him. Doesn't mean I don't think he can become a winner here but lets not act like the 2004 MVP is washed up and a loser and at the same time praise our point guard who has won even less and is pretty much the same age (and Marbury does have legit ankle issues, more substantiated than KG's knee injuries)

I don't want to build around Marbury either. Happy?
