In all honesty will JJ even get more than 20 minutes a game ever. I think Channing is the eventual Center, even though he is undersized. But most centers are undersized nowdays.

I think JJ is here to lean on the larger centers if need be. Block a few shots, and wave his fat ass around. 30 Million, 5 years was too much, but we are NEVER going to be under cap, so what do we care what we pay for him?

If its a symptom of a larger disease, than so be it, we have oversized bad contracts. But whats one more.
I don't care what people think. People are stupid. - Charles Barkley

any pro with half a brain says the same thing... we got hosed and overpaid for this guy. I remember when Layden tried to get him and we were laughing about it. Now after 2 more years of the same Zeke gets him and its a great move, just the rest of the sports world doesnt realize it
Name some posters who called it a "great" move, Fish.

For the last time, Frye is more suited to a PF game.

Dirk is 7-0......is he a center??? > end of story.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

For the last time, 90% of starting centers in the NBA are more suited tot he PF position. You don't need to be a real center to be a good starting center. "End of story"

JJ will be Fine (if they include him in the offense). JJ is not the kind of center who will create his own shots too often. Nazr was the same way, he will thrive if the Knicks work the ball to him in and around the basket. Any capable center can be a 15/8 or more guy if the team works the offense to keep him involved. JJ wasn't involved in the offense in Seattle until that playoff series. Nazr wasn't involved in Atlanta's offense but when the Knicks thought about including him, he played/responded well.

JJ's speed is quite deceiving..
He runs the floor well for a 280 7 footer.
he executes the pick N roll dillently..
LArry is just gonna teach him to stay on the floor alot longer.

Nazr was a rebounding machine but was knowned for clooging the middle.. Ever since nazr left, Tim Thomas's game improve dramatically cause he now can post up his opponents inside the paint and didn't shoot from the outside constantly..

JJ should be find..

way to go wood...TT did wake up after nazr left...while nazr thought he was a center, he truly is a PF. No ups. And his rebounds were 25% generated by his own misses. So I discount that as well.

Now, I'm not bashing Nazr, just pointing out how JJ will be better.

getting nazr was nothing more but trade filler with a zeke spin: zeke's selling point getting tt alone for kvh was no big deal, but getting nazr + tt was as good as slice bread. and if nazr clogged up the middle resulting in tt's poor production, how did narz affect tt's defense?

i hope jj keeps the middle clear

only needs to clear it on offense, defensively, block shots, clog lanes, do what it takes. But don't give up easy buckets.
