The Suns won't win 50 games this year- they will have a rough time jelling IMO. With the roster changes that were made, the gameplan will have to be tweaked. Their perimeter game definitely took a hit.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

You're completely wrong, look at when Duncan wasn't on in the playoffs and Ginobli and Parker stepped up (Not to mention Big Shot Bob). Ginobli was on his way to being MVP of the finals after the first few games. No team in the league (aside from TWolves) are more dependent on one guy, Amare and Marion are monsters but they are incapable of producing consistently without a great point guard who can run with them. There is a big difference in taking away Nash than Duncan even though Duncan is a better player.

I agree, SA is a good team all around. I think they will be in the playoffs without Duncan.

do you realize how weak their frontcourt is without duncan? rasho and nazr at the 4/5? horry only plays in the 4th quarter of playoff games. don't get me wrong, no disrespect for their team defense and their backcourt, but duncan is the foundation for that team. without him they have no interior defense - we've seen nazr play and we all know Rasho isn't a defensive specialist, and they have no inside game on offense either. It's tough to make the playoffs like that.

I guess from the last 10 or so response's its justified that Nash got the MVP.

If the Suns are just a 30 win team, but spurs can make playoffs w/o duncan, then Nash is the MVP.

Exactly the point Nalod, no one is saying the Spurs aren't a lot worse without Duncan in the lineup, but I think everyone is in agreement that Steve Nash brings a cohesiveness to the Suns that is probably unattainable without him.

spurs without duncan is not like the knicks without ewing in 99.
you have manu and parker - two extremely good role players but not stars...yet.
then you're done. in fact, you could argue that the knicks with marbury, kurt, and nazr would be a better team.

how can the suns be a dissapointment? by not winning the title? 50+ win season is still in their cards. they still have 3 stars at skill positions.

stupid thread

league MVP=steve Nash
best frontcourt player in the NBA=amare stoudemire
double double machine=sean marion

good role players=50+ wins easy

by the way, I would trade our whole roster for amare stoudemire and 11 nbdl players, rebuild from scratch and i would have a better team in 2-3 years.

Good thread. The Suns are still a good team, but I think they'll have about a negative twelve win differential from last year. That would improve if they can sign Finley. They lost their two best wing players and replaced them with mediocre role players (Bell and Kurt). They were also blessed with basically zero injuries during the regular season last year, which is unlikely to occur again

Why haven't you filled out a GM aplication yet?

briggs know better than that, he is just talking, all emotion, he knows if a team did that, amare would bolt as soon as his rookie deal ended.

heat and denver are front runners for finley's services with denver's starting SG spot wide open for him.

payton is now talking to pheonix so nash could get time off.

if the choice, right now is our squad, or amare with nbdl players and a ton of cap room next year, i choose amare also.

why? b/c amare may be the most dominant player in the nba right now and possibly for the next 10 years. i still can't get over that 4th quarter when he took over that playoff game and just dunked ON EVERYBODY. nobody could stop him and the spurs are a top 5 defensive team.

Me too, tank one season and pick up Greg Oden. Then since we have so much cap space we can sign Lebron and Wade.

He wasn't doubting that you would trade the whole squad; he was saying that if you have Amare surrounded by NBDL players, Amare will leave after one year (when his rookie contract ends).
I too would trade the whole team for Amare anyway. There are only three or four teams in the league that I wouldn't trade the entire rosters of for Amare.
