Layden's utah scrubs were bums, whereas Isiah is bringing in players that'll actually help the team. No one can nitpick that.

Thank God for progress!

IT goes for young athetic guys who are on the upside of their careers, with the potential of being real steals. layden brought in character guys with obscene deals. people are saying jerome james' contract won't kill us; a 3 year, $6 mil contract definitely won't on another JJ.

if we do bring him in, i could see penny and/or TT traded or waived before the season

James Jones had a few 20 pt games last year after the brawl. He can shoot the 3. I dont mind bringing him...would prefer him to Diop, who has no skills.

I don't understand the stories about JYD right now. Isiah will probably explain that move later on, but in my opinion, Rose or Mo should have been released. Rose could always find a home elsewhere. Than again, maybe Isiah is planing on trading one of the two with one of our expiring contract

I think you guys are underestimating the thought that went into the choice of who to let go. Do you think that all of the Knicks brass are idiots? Zeke, Brown, Mills etc. i'm sure they went over the numbers and the roster implications with a fine tooth comb. They would have had a CBA specialist involved in explaining all the options, whether it be retirement, injury exceptions or amnesty waiver. Sometimes I really wonder about Knick fans. Just because you don't know their reasons, doesn't mean that they're idiots and don't know what they're doing.

I happen to think that Zeke does know what he's doing and he has a plan that is going along just fine. You still have to remember that he can't just waive a magic wand and make this into a Title Contender. He's going to have to snake his way around a lot of obstacles, so the path won't ever be straight and clear to the observer. Yet he has been doing just as he said he would. YOUNGER, MORE ATHLETIC & LONGER. We've been gettting all of those things this offseason, so what's the dang problem

I followed Jones last year (fantasy bball). He exploded after the suspensions and put up impressive numbers. Rebounds and threes. Then, he just dissapeared... This was even before the regular's came back, and F Jones started to put up big numbers... He's a streaky jumpshooter who can rebound.

Yeah, me too. Right after the fight in Detroit he started to put up pretty darn good numbers, but after the Pacers started to loose quite a few in a row, and as his performance became more inconsistent his minutes were decreased.

From the statistics one can see:

Pros:

- An excellent free throw shooter
- Has the capablility of getting double digit rebound numbers
- Does not turn the ball over much at all
- Shot 40% from 3pt range last year
- Only 24 years old

Cons:

- Shoots a low percentage from the field
- Streaky outside shooter
- Inconsistent numbers/playing time since being in the league
- Doesn't get too many assists

hell be a perfect fit with Q and Craw--all cant shoot 40% and prefer not to pass! Bly me, Id rather give the money to Diop. You cant teach size

IT goes for young athetic guys who are on the upside of their careers, with the potential of being real steals.

- Isiah extended a 31 year old KT to a 5 year extension
- Isiah signed a 32 year old Vin Baker coming off drug addiction & injuries to half of the MLE
- Isiah traded a 28 year old, athletic C for a 31 year old, undersized PF (though he did get those draft picks, so i did like this one)

some of Isiah's moves have not always followed along with this mantra.

TMS - can you name ONE General Manager with a 100 per cent success rate on ALL his moves?

Isiah Thomas has made more positive impact on the franchise in 19 months than ANYONE in the entire last decade and all some Chicken Littles can do is run in scared circles or bitch an moan like the sky is falling.

Are you kidding me?

This season promises to be exciting AND productive.

Isiah delivered Larry Freakin' Brown!

Gimme a break

don't get sarcastic bro...i made a truthful observation...you glossed over those moves when you made that statement...i didn't say Vin's signing killed our youth movement...you guys really have a problem reading posts accurately it seems...i think it's becoming more & more epidemic around here.

...and I thought I was the only one who dispatched pessimists with lines like "Isiah Thomas has made more positive impact on the franchise in 19 months than ANYONE in the entire last decade and all some Chicken Littles can do is run in scared circles or bitch and moan like the sky is falling." LOL Tell it to 'em, Earl!

I'm glad to see optimistic views being defended. It's about time that the "negative just for the sake of being negative" stuff gets checked. The Knicks are on the way UP, baby! Whining by haters gets slapped aside!

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

TMS - have another sip of Diet HaterAde

Personally, I'll be enjoying the escapades of Nate Robinson, Q and Brandy, and David Lee.

No one claimed Isiah is perfect, but he FAR more intelligent, professional, hard-working and creative than many are willling to give him credit for

Enjoy your Celtics gear

HARDCORE - people like TMS only look at personnel moves one at a time and REFUSE to see the big picture of improvement.

Didn't Clarence Weatherspoon get the waiver?

Howard Eisley?

People like TMS were SILENT as "see no evil" monkeys during the Layden regime.

Am I pissed? You damn skippy I'm pissed because its August and the best TMS can do is only find some awkward sarcasm

Where are the REAL Knicks fans?

i honestly was not sure how to respond to your post. i opted for sarcasm because it was the quickest way to go. yes, i generalized. but i didn't say either that every one of his moves were in that model. it's not a question of reading posts, something i take seriously when i plan on making a response that could start a debate. you brought up ONE move that went against the young/athletic model. i don't count KT because he was already our player and enough of an asset to get two young players in return. and the nazr trade was a wash because of the picks. you bring up one move as if it proves a point. i chose a quick sarcastic response instead of a laundry list of young athletic players IT brought in. your point was apparently that "some of Isiah's moves have not always followed along with this mantra." i don't think that's something worth saying, much less arguing over.

Commandment Number 6

Simrud - better read your Knicks Bible again

"thou shalt not cast stones against a new Knicks team, or its President, BEFORE the newly acquired players have slipped their Knicks practice ("man, we talkin' bout practice...") jerseys over their heads.
