the 3rd year left on JYD's deal was a team option...his contract could have expired after next season the same as Shandon's, & he had less money left in those 2 years than Shandon's contract will cost the Knicks in the same time as well...simply IDIOTIC move by Isiah...there's just no other way to put it...Larry Brown or not, Isiah's making some boneheaded moves this offseason...you gotta be a fool not to see that.

I just don't understand this move. You wanna open up a roster spot? fine, cut shandon under the amnesty clause and THEN cut jerome williams regularly. they save more money that way! they basically chose to pay an extra million or so...
