Green won't be ready to become a real player for awhile. He's no Lebron, and most kids straight outta H.S., if they really have what it takes, usually take 2-3 years to develop. Atleast with Frye, I'm confident he can contribute SOMETHING right away.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Those dunks were incredble, but I saw him play and was very underwhelmed. Hes got a long way to go. What makes him better than qyntel Woods right now? Nothing. We'll see about him.

Right now I see Green's potential as another fred jones of indiana. To be put in Pierce's category he has to do waaaaayyyyy more than I've ever seen him do on a basketball court. I have yet to ever see Gerald Green create his own shot. Pierce can actually create his own. Pierce also D's up and has range on his shot. Pierce has done all that it takes to be an allstar. Eddie Robinson could jump through the roof (before the toe issues), he never got anywhere close to where Paul Pierce is. Gerald has a long ways to go.

all the same doubts you guys have about Gerald Green could have been applied to Kobe Bryant & Tracy McGrady coming out of HS too...i said weeks before draft day that i thought Green was going to be the best player to come out of this draft & i hold to that...IMHO we lost out bigtime on our chance to pick him.

the 1 negative thing about that clip is that you don't see Green playing any D...he's just loafing on the perimeter waiting for an outlet pass on the break...that's something he'll have to work on for sure...but there's no question about his athletic ability & upside potential...he's going to be a star.

Too bad those dunks won't be useful in real NBA games, he definitely has a huge career in the And1 league if he doesn't pan out.

yeah I really wanted Bynum going into the draft but after Green was on the board at 8 me and my friends couldn't believe it and thought for sure the Knicks were not going to pass up on him. Sure enough Bynum went ahead of Green. Could be for good reason or maybe not who knows. Who knows what Frye will become

The difference between Frye and Green is that you can't teach size, we needed front court help desperately.

not if the frontcout player puts up 11 & 4 while the other becomes a superstar guard who carries his team the way a Mcgrady does. Will Frye carry the Knicks?

We're putting together a team right now to win, not someone to "potentially" "carry us" 5 years down the line.

Cherry picking between the leg dunks, yes they are.

And both players really carried their team to the promised land... Of course we're trying to win now, why pay for a 10 million dollar coach if you're not trying to win now?

Larry Brown is here to help us win Now & Later, just like the candy.
Let's hope the wins are just as sweet. That justifies the big money.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Yeah, just like Portland did when they took Bowie.

I wonder why Cleveland took Lebron when they already had Miles & Ricky Davis
