Wouldn't it be nuts if Marbury was able to get over his guilty conscience and just go out and score 30ppg? Don't tell me he couldn't.
That would be really crazy.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

the writing is on the wall here. i mean read the papers, if larry brown said marbury is a 2G and now we are searching the league for PG's, i think we can add 1+1. thats why i want to see if atlanta might be interested in getting involved for marbury. he is much, much more of a PG than Johnson, and JJ is much more of a 2G than marbury. marbury could sell tickets for atlanta, the knicks dont need marbury to sell tickets. i would really like to get crawford to the pg spot, i think they are missing the boat

by the way please no eric snow, whatever we do, they player is shot

Listen Briggs, buddy:

It's bad to convince yourself of things that don't lie in reality. ESPECIALLY if you're a Knick fan. You're setting yourself up to be disappointed or made fun of.

That's all I'm gonna say about this whole Joe Johnson business.

Yes he has, I mean he won the scoring title this year with a shade under 31 a game. he has won the scoring title a few times, and he has average over 30 points atleast 3-4 times over his career.

Just to reiterate, when a few of us went to the IT Q&A he said there is WAY too much concern over defining who's at the 1 or 2. He scoffed at the fact that he was always considered a 1 when in fact he played a ton of 2. He even said the Microwave would take over the major ball-handling duties at key times when they played together (?!) leaving Isiah free to create for himself and score.

If you were just going with what he was saying, the expectation would be that Stephon will continue to be the 1 but that he'll get plenty of functioning at the 2 during the game, whether he's called that or not.

I have zero interest in the PGs (Snow, Ollie, Watson) that are mentioned in the Daily News article. If Larry is going to shift Steph to the 2, then Crawford/Robinson have to play the point.

someone mentioned to me this point, and i somewhat agree.

"Whatever adjustments he wants me to make," Marbury said yesterday before addressing a crowd of children attending his namesake basketball camp. "He told me a long time ago, 'If I ever coached you I'd put you at the 2 because you're a 2-guard.' It don't matter. As long as I'm on the court playing. It don't matter who's the 1 or who's the 2."

The idea of a bright green light was obviously a hypnotic force.
"Like I said, if I play the 2, it's going to be kind of scary," Marbury said. "Because now I could shoot whenever I want to shoot. I ain't got to think about (running the offense). And I think I'll be more of a playmaker because now I'll be playing behind the defense. I'm not bringing the ball down the court with nine people watching me."

"They want me to go on a bad team so they can continue to drag me," said Marbury, who was presiding over his basketball camp at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. "But it's cool, though. I'm still here, I ain't going nowhere, and I'm still going to play the same way I play."

"I got somebody on my side now. I think people can't deal with that knowing that Isiah and I are close. We're too close and we talk too much. It's a bad thing that Isiah and I have a relationship. It makes it difficult for people to talk to us. It makes it difficult for you to go and talk to another player. But we're real. It's easy for all of the fake people to hang out with each other. It's hard to stand by yourself and be real."

so far, the prevaling word here is I.

did he really have to say all that isiah stuff in there? isn't this exactly what kurt thomas said last year about them. it's like he's untouchable and knows it. it alienates him from his teammates even more.

will he ever "get it"?

this is going to be THE defining season in stephon's career. the one that will dictate his legacy as player.

The writing's on the wall, meaning that Marbury will be moved to SG or meaning that he'll be traded? I couldn't tell what you meant from the previous message. I could understand it if you meant the writing's on the wall that he'll be our 2 guard and won't be traded, but not if you meant that he'll be traded.

i said "over his career"...meaning his entire career...you read that wrong my man.

& regardless of this fact, are we seriously expecting Stephon to be as prolific a scorer as AI? some of you need a reality check...22-24ppg is the most i would expect from Marbury even if he tried to score more.

Why are we talking about career averages? No one was talking about Marbury averaging 30 PPG for his career. I don't think Marbury will or should average 30 PPG. Even if he plays SG, he's too good a playmaker to be only a shooter. Maybe he puts up 22 PPG and 6 APG as an SG.

i don't remember saying anyone was talking about Marbury averaging 30 ppg over his career...just made an observation that it's retarded to think he could all of a sudden start to average 30 ppg when a guy like AI hasn't been able to do that over his career...

Marbury could do it for a stretch of 5 games once in a while, sure...but not over an entire season.

I knew LB was gonna put Steph at 2 guard. He doens't think Marbs is a leader and doesn't think he sets up his inside people well enough. I know, what inside people. But like Eric Snow was more disciplined and started an offense better than AI in Philly according to LB, Crawford or Nate is going to have to do the same in NY. Let's see how this plays out.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.
