I agree with core. This gloomy negative attitude is annoying. Have some faith in the GM, the coach and our players. It seems like some guys post just so they can say "I told you so" later.

I know you are not a fairweather fan because you were here with the rest of us through the Layden days. You did not vanish then but you were MIA here last year. We finally have a real coach after JVG and we finally have a legit center (though unproven) because of the Messiah. I cant wait for the season to start. Never change man, we need your optimism. There is a reason we call you Hardcore.

Let's be a bit realistic here. The reason we're considered the "smartest" fans in the NBA is b/c we don't have this hazy, cross-eyed outlook of the team. We know what's going on, and when it's not going the way it should be, we let them know.

.500 is fair to predict for next season, but it awaits to be seen if that's even good enough for the playoffs. there are some things you can foresee, and some things you can't yet.

I think we can all agree though, that another move or two could really make the difference next season...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

We are considered to be the most well informed fans. I dont know how you define smartest but there are a lot of people that booed Ewing. Is that smart?

Also, just because you can be a little apprehensive doesnt make you smart. Look, stats and on paper, our team is not as great but stats only matter after the game is over. Stats dont decide who wins tomorrow. We play the game tomorrow to find out who wins tomorrow.

So I guess the Hornets have a chance...

Ok, maybe a bit of an extreme, but you might as well say the Magic have just as much of a shot as us. Or the Bucks have just as much of a chance as the Pistons. I mean, where do you draw the line then?

.500 is a fair prediction. and again, it awaits to be seen if that's good enough to make the playoffs.

Are you arguing for the sake of arguing? I think it will make you happy that I say you are right and I am wrong. .500 is a fair assesment.

Oh yeah, Silver, I cringe when I think about the LayDown days. It was just darkness without and light on the horizon anywhere. This is why I am so glad Isiah is here. All during those days we posted out displeasure with that regime, while wishing that we had a Prez/GM who would take this team and get us going in the right direction, while pushing Dolan more to the background. We got it and dammit, I'll say it again for all whose ears are too tender for it not to bother them- MESSIAH THOMAS is what we call him!

There once was a time when we could only dream of having a PG like Stephon or a coach like Larry Brown. Isiah Thomas made it happen. I to am getting tired of all the naysayers crying like the sky is falling. Some of those chumps are the same ones who were acting like the LayDown era was full of sunny days. Some others simply never have anything positive to say whatsoever. A difference of opinion is one thing, but some of these posts sound like they're just crying just for the sake of being negative, or becuse they need attention. It's like someone cloned Playa dozens of times and had them all post when the Knicks are finally doing well lol.

No need to worry, Silver. I've been consistent all this time and won't change anytime soon. I'll always stand by my words and mean what I say, loyalty in place. It's what I define as a true, real fan. I'll keep bigging up my team and this management team that makes all fans (with common friggin' sense) stand up and applaud what's been accomplished already. The best part about it is that the best is yet to come!

Hopefully the hypocrites got all the crap outta their systems while I was on sabbatical. I know you kept things in order, Silver! Too bad you didn't have ban rights when you were site-sitting for Martin & Andrew lol

The New York Knicks are turning the page, to the WINNING Section! The haters don't even matter! Just call 'em out, laugh at their stupidity and root for our Knicks! Whoever's not on board, F 'em!

hey man i'm not against you or Briggs. but please do speak your opinion just as Briggs has the right to speak his opinion just as i have the right to speak my opinion.

we're all knicks fans. last year i rooted for the knicks and i got cussed out by simrud, i got called a homer and i'm still a smiling face so...so, in the words of EPMD

Why'd you get cussed out? Just for rooting for the Knicks? Man you should have shut those haters down and told them, in the words of EPMD:

whats the gloomy outlook? I said that I believe the Knicks are a 7 seed and I believe that the numbers I put up for Frye and Sweetney are acheivable and necessary. If they DONT put up atleast close to those numbers, you are looking at relying on a perimeter based team-yeah you could have a Seattle type thing--you could, but I dont see any Ray Allen's at SG. We need perfomance out of Sweetney and Frye or we will NOT be good.

As a fan I think it's very reasonable to understand that this is a big % of our frontcourt, possibly even for the future, so it's a vital area. I wouldnt put up 14+7 and 14+9 if I thought it was not possible. Also, I do not believe in these psuedo all stars. Dont bring up the name Magliore as an all star because it shames the sport.

You've smoked 1 too many blunts if you think Frye is gonna pick up 14 and 7 in his rookie season...

Briggs, I think those numbers are pretty close to best case scenario for Frye and Sweetney. I think Frye can give you 12 and 7 and Sweetney could probably give 14 and 9 if he learns to stay on the floor. This team does have a lot of firepower, no Ray Allens, but plenty of scoring depth from PG to SF. Shoot even Mo T and Sweets can fill it. I'm not looking for scoring from Sweetney or Frye though. I could care less if Frye scored 9ppg or 14ppg right off the bat. I'm much more interested to see if he can make an impact on defense and improve his rebounding. To me, it would be worse if he came out and scored 14ppg but it was a Tim Thomas no impact 14pts.

What is so hard to agree with Briggs on? What other frontcourt options do we have to rely on that can make a real impact in the game. If they don't have big years, then we are screwed. What's so hard to understand here? How on Earth can you trust Jerome James? It's not having or not having faith in Isiah or Larry. It's not having faith in JEROME. He hasn't changed his ways in the NBA his entire career. Channing Frye may very well not be able to get off the Knick bench b/c he doesn't have enough body strength all around. And this goes to BONN. Bonn, maybe there aren't a lot of true NBA centers around, but that's not the point. Channing Frye gets pushed around by guys with even an ounce of muscle. If he doesn't build up his body strength, he's not going to make it in the NBA very far. He'll be a defensive liability no matter how hard he tries and his rebounding woes will hurt the team. That IS reality if he doesn't hit the weights and work with Aguirre. He has to do BOTH. And we need Sweetney to start breaking out equally as bad as we need Frye to have a good season. If they don't, we'll have, BY FAR, the worst frontcourt in the NBA. I've been saying this since we first heard about the KT for Quentin trade. It wasn't that good to begin with, even with Kurt. Briggs is absolutely 100% right. It's not about being gloomy and doomy. It's not about wearing rose colored glasses. It's about reading the facts we have right in front of our eyes and putting them to reality.

Ya best case scenario....for their careers.

What is WRONG with some of you guys. 14 and 7? Isn't that close to what Rasheed Friggin Wallace is averaging?

I feel good about the offense, although I was in favor of picking someone else, I KNOW Frye has OUTSTANDING offensive skills, his best attribute on the court is his touch. Thats why I feel he needs to be out there and 14 points is a very reasonable number. But you hit on something--rebounding--almost more than the points, we need these guys to hit those rebounding goals because James is a PI SS POOR rebounder from the 5.

This is why I say there's a chance Frye might not even leave the bench much Briggs. He's gonna get pushed around like crazy, and I just don't see Larry Brown standing for that. I have a feeling we might be seeing a lot of Malik and JYD this year.

with the way the east is shaping up, 500 gets the atlantic.

The celtics are obviously rebuilding, Toronto...well, they're just waiting till the trading deadline. The sixers have a chance to contend, but just as much as us and the nets.

The heat, detroit and indiana are going to beat up on people (all equally), but the rest are all the same...I'm actually going to apply what Zeke said last year to this year. We're a 500 team.

I'm down with that...what's that? A 9 game improvement over last year.

I'll take that like nobody's business.

I just want to show the league that we are coming back and will be beating everyone that is beating us.

I'm pretty sure we are going to sweep Boston and Chicago this year. And the lakers will not win here.

I can't wait...no, seriously, I can't.

You Don King? Wpw! By the way, We won 33 games last season. The Messiah has yet to deliver.

While we are improving, the reality is we got a long way, and if the path to rightousness is a true one, it will be filled with some painful growth pains.

And while your sermonizing and calling out those who speak some truth, some concerns, and speak their minds as unbelivers, some of your rants sound almost (dido) like your a half crazed moonie cult follower ready to strike down the infidel whom might have a differnt take!

Your propoganda rants are up there with the best of them!

That's about where I stopped reading.

You obviously forgot about Philly and NJ.

Optimism is being able to sort through the good and the bad of a given situation, and hoping for the best.

What you're showing isn't optimism. It's a blatant disregard for common sense...
