Fish:

Crawford just turned 25, and being as skilled as he is, with the tools he already has to play solid D, I don't think there's a doubt in my mind he will be a defensive stopper in the near future. As for right now, he's at the very least an above average defender.

FINALLY!

you said he's a defensive stopper. He's not. Sure he's got the tools, Tim Thomas has the tools, but he's a sissy.

LBJ isnt and I would say he will become a good defender, but it probably took Jordon (you may be too young to remember) a good 5-6 years before he was regarded as a good defender, much less a stopper.

Right now, the Cavs have one guy thats played great D in his career, and thats Eric Snow.

They sure as hell dont have any stoppers right now. They do have size, and that helps, just like it will help us. Keeps you from getting pushed around. But they dont have one guy that looks to go out and shut someone down.

Oh, I remember enough of Jordan's early years to know that he was an average defender at the least, and a humongous ******* along with that.

But my point is that Lebron is better than any defender we have on this team (among the starters).

Please - don't compare TT to Lebron in any way shape or form.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

What's with insulting people by calling them young when you disagree with them? I've seen Fish and Briggs do this a lot

Where's the insult in pointing out someone's age? It certainly sheds light on people's perspectives. I think maturity is not always an age issue, but sometimes maturity and age are directly related (which conversely might explain immaturity: i.e. snittishness, not being able to let go of an argument, etc.)

However, there are some pretty mature young dudes in this world so we can't just sell people short based strictly on age.

If anything age can definitely help in trying to understand how early someone's basketball memory could have started. Some people here remember the Championship Knicks teams - I wasn't alive for almost a decade afterwards.

If you *know* someone's young and you feel you need to cite their age because your argument would be weak without citing their age, then I guess it's fine. However, it's a bit silly to call anyone whose views you don't like "young" if you have no idea what their age is. Maybe Fish and Briggs have seen our birth certificates or driver's licenses and their comments are completely reasonable. In all fairness, I've seen Fish call only one poster young. Briggs called everyone who thought Antoine Walker could contribute to the Knicks young. I didn't mean for this to actually be a long discussion about whether to call posters you disagree with young. I just think it's pretty lame if you feel your argument is not strong enough without resorting to calling the other person young.
