It is the coach's fault for not clearly state what a player's role should be. Herb should have clearly told Crawfford: look, you are only allow to take no more than 10 shots, 3 from down range or the 3 point line and 7 from inside the arc. After that, your sole role is to set other players up. For Crawfford to say that he is confused, made no sense what so ever to me. The comment " when in doubt, shoot" was designed to help Crawfford out of the funk that he was going through as a shooter, but what Marburry or the reporter failed to tell us is whether or not Marburry told Crawfford to shoot from the 3 line or inside the 3 line....Crawfford took 15 shots and at least 10 of them were from 3s, and out of the 15 shots he only connected 3 or 4 times ...that too me was horrible shot selection.

I remember the Crawford part of it well. There was an interview after a game where Crawford admitted he didnt know if he was supposed to shoot or pass. Marbury told him (exact phrase) "when in doubt shoot, thats what I do."
I remember it clearly because it was a rallying point for the "Herb must go" crowd, as he had players that didnt know if they should shoot or pass.

This yr we will find out what Marbury is all about. Unless Larry Brown gets him traded 2 games into the season. If Marbury doesn't accept Larry Browns philosphy and struggles then he is only about himself and he probably never will win in this league. He got to find away to get the most out of Frye & Sweetney because those are his 2 most talented big men. And those two will help him win. I won't say James because if he doesn't come to play it doesn't matter what Marbury or Nash or even Jason Kidd would do.

I just can't wait for the start of the season, because until then we will continue to read that garbage from all of the haters. Watch them jumping on the van wagon once we start beating their teams...

Dude, if you know me, you will know that I never liked the fact that Kurt Thomas was still around. I have even went on the records to say that we would not have been a good squad with Kurt in the lineup...Marb did his job, but his supportive squad didn't. His coaches failed him too, because, Lenny had a lot of options in the beginning of the season. TT was not playing well, he should have replaced him with an able body. the combo of Kurt and Nazr was just garbage...I called for Nazr and Sweetney, because it made sense. We need a post player, but neither Kurt nor Nazr could provide that.
