You are questioning him too becuase going back to your previous 2 posts in this thread all your doing is saying how bad that coaching staff messed up the past 2 seasons that Larry should hire Gar Heard as his head assistant. Saying what you've said, your already showing your disagreement with Herb even being mentioned as the #1 assistant. Now when it happens, I'll expect a new thread about how Larry Brown should've hired Gar Heard as his assistant. I think Larry Brown knows what he's doing and if he's not comfortable with Herb as his main assistant then he's not going to hire him but I personally don't think the #1 assistant is even relevant, Larry Brown is listening to no one but himself during games.
how am I questioning Larry's coaching ability though? thats so off-base I don't know who the assistant will be and yes every coach needs one despite the fact that they call all the shots, but if Larry chooses Herb then its because he likes the guy and enjoyed their dinner conversation but if Larry rather bring in Gar Heard, which could be the hold up, then he should. herb shouldn't be guaranteed anything since he's an interim coach. any other scenario he'd all ready be fired but I don't mind being professional about it and keeping him around. I rather Isiah bring in his guy Heard but like I said if Larry chooses Herb or "accepts" Herb than I will live with it despite the fact I think its stupid. I think you really misuderstood my point Rob.
Lets be realistic here. Everyone and their mother knows if Herb is Larry top assistant ahead of Heard who's followed Larry around for over a decade that its a PR move to make the Isiah, Larry & the Knicks look good otherwise Herb would be long gone by now like every other interim coach.
