Other than the drafting of The Big Fella.....

Has there EVER been a more exciting off-season in Kicks history?

Kenny Walker perhaps?

I called it the most exciting off season in 20 years but Martin says getting Riley was more exciting and BRIGGS says the Van Gundy era was exciting as LB...

The Van Gundy era was only exciting after Spree and Camby were freed from his doghouse

Otherwise, former equipment manager JVG received too much praise for simply following in Riley's footsteps

Then to top it all off, he simply quit.

When was the last infusion of so much new talent?

That's why Dolan said 99 was a nightmare. Everyone forgets the regular season, the Camby, Grunfeld, JVG controversy, team turmoil, Spree controversy about not starting, and just remembers Houston's shot against Thunder Dan. I could have coach that team to get past the Hawks with Camby and Spree playing like they did (2 guys JVG didn't want on his team just ask Grunfeld about that), Ewing pleading for his job to Checketts, not controlling his team in the 97 playoffs, btw never met a man who hated rookies more than JVG. I just find it ironic that the last time the man made it out of the 1st round, Ewing was manning the middle and the team was Miami.

I will bring my digital cam, and ask if all the UK guy can get a pic together with Isiah before I drill him over the Vin Baker signing and the Moochie Norris trade.

I hope he doesn't have to get henchmen, Aguirre and Herb to escort you out while yelling at you it was a great move to get expiring contracts. I know how it will hurt you if it was Herb carrying you out.

me too. Just kidding... btw. I will play the good guy, but if I get the shot I want to ask about the youth movement, how commited we are to establishing our young talent, and if so why did Ariza and Butler get DNPs at the end of last year

I hope someone else how hard did he really go after Kwame Brown and did he feel that there was any real shot at getting him. Man I wish I could attend myself. That's a great question about youth getting some playing time but I think it will now be out of his hand.

he'll probably call one of us, and we'd ask him a tough question...and that'll be the last time he'll call someone from our table :)

he's cool. he'll stay there and answer all the questions regardless of how tough or poo poo they are.

some dude at the last q&a, an older gentlemen, asked him to stop playing the music in the arenas b/c it took away from the game. he was like "that's not my job" but gave him this look like "are you serious?"

I think you pretty much KNOW he's going to say "B/c the guys have to EARN their playing time, and Mo T and KT and everyone else EARNED IT" It's full of shyat, but that's what he'll say.

Most coaches and vets generally agree with that philosophy. JVG came out in 97 and said that he really doesn't like rookies too much. Next thing you know John Wallace, and McCarty were brought for Dudleys and Mills of the world. Riley used to treat rookies like stepchildren. Ariza got more playing time for a rookie since Patrick Ewing. I guess Herb totally agrees with him because he could have went his own way and played the younger guys.

You guys going to the Season ticket holders event are lucky, according to this morning's New York Post, Larry is going to be there too.

All I have to say is represent us well

I'm not really sure about what I would ask either. I would probably ask something like, "With Larry on board, if an opportunity presents itself to make the Knicks significantly better in the short term, will you take it even if it means giving up some of our talented youth (like Ariza, Sweetney, etc) along with picks which are essential to a 'rebuilding' team?"

I would ask Larry if he has any other childhood dreams that we should know about.
