It's become increASINLY OBVIOUS, atleAST TO ME, THat we're lACKING a true impACT BIG Man. we hAVE PLENTY OF PF'S, and A CENTER IN JEROME James thAT Can ATLEast block some shots, but whAT WE'RE MISSING IS THat one GUY thAT Can reALLY Man the pAINT FOR US. An impACT pf. gUYS LIKE SHEED, BRand, k-mART, ETC. sWEETNEY'S a nice rebounder AND POST SCORER, BUT HE'S UNathletic AND STILL UNPROVEN, PLUS HE Lacks defensive ABILITY. FRYE IS ONLY a rookie AND WE'VE alreADY SEEN THat he's more of A PERIMETER BIG Man, Rather thAN ONE THat cAN Bang in the Paint with the best of them. But both of them ARE STILL YOUNG, and could end up SURPRISing US... So my question to ALL OF YOU IS - becAUSE WE are missing THat lAST PIECE TO THE PUZZLE, WHEN WILL ISIah use TIMMY and/or penny TO Land it???? (AND YES, I'M Having keyboARD PROBLEMS)
NEVER -- Isiah Will Stick With What We Have
THIS SUMMER -- Someone Will Become Available, And Zeke Will Jump On It
SHORTLY AFTER THE SEASON STARTS -- He'll Wait It Out For A Few Months
JUST BEFORE THE DEADLINE -- He'll Wait Until TT's Value is Higher
NEXT SUMMER -- Zeke'll Wait Until We Have More Expiring Contracts to Use

ya but how maNY YEars is LARRY GONNA hAVE HERE? Maybe 2. while he's here, you hAVE TO Make the best of it. you hAVE TO Maximize tHE POTENTIal of this teAM, and the only wAY TO DO THat is to mAKE ONE Last trADE. WE haVE Alot of pieces, but quAlity is ALMOST alwAYS BETTER THan quANTITY. WE Have ALOT OF PF'S, BUT NO CLEar stARTER. the rotATION Has A BIG QUESTION Mark right now, AND Larry usuALLY LIKES TO STICK TO about 10 guys.

i REalize bringing in thAT IMPact pf will be close to impossible this summer, but i cAN DEF. SEE IT Happening SOMETIME B/W NOVEMBER and februrARY. YOU NEVER KNOW WHO'S GONnA BE avAILable AND WHEN. BUT IN THE WORST Case scenARIO, WE'LL SIMPLY Have to wAIT IT OUT UNTIL THE DEadline, when TT's vALUE IS at its highest.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Well, as much as could need a star PF, and trade the thousands we have, we would also need another C, but thats just another piece of the puzzle. I have yet to see James to find out if he will suddenly play to his potential or just be a 16 min backup. Anyway, I do believe we need a better frontcourt player than the ones we have, but those are so hard to find. Simply put, it could all come down to what type of season teams like the Clippers or the T-Wolves will have. If the T-Wolves such too much, they could trade Garnett, and we would have enough assets to get him. Brown could then win a championship for us. Same with Brand, although the Clippers are a franchise so difficult to predict that who knows what will they do. Anyway, I don't think this Larry Brown signing necessarily means that Isiah will try to make the Knicks win a championship in the next two years. Larry could just be a mentor for everybody, the one that changes the direction of the team. But its true that if we can compete for a championship with Brown, we should try, but that depends on what other teams do rather than us. One thing, I would hate to see some of the great rookies we have go in such a deal. At least Nate and maybe Ariza should be keepers, and I like Frye a lot too...

ya, i mentioned thAT IN another post.

if the clipps, for exAMPLE, KEEP WILCOX and only give UP Jaric in thAT POTENTIal clevelAND DEal, then there's A GOOD POSSIBILITY THEY MIGHT let Gooden stART and shop BrAND LATER ON. OF COURSE, THat ALL DEPENDS ON HOW GOOD THEY STart off this seASON.

I THINK WE DEF. Have the ASSETS TO Land thAT IMPact pf, but it def. depends on if AND WHEN THOSE PLayers WILL BE avAILable. thAT Said, it would be AWESOME IF ISIah could mAKE SOMETHING Happen in the next few months...

I don't think he is going to use them...there really isn't anybody to use them on that can help us immediately.

I think he will let them expire off the cap and ... Wait, I changed my mind...I think Sheed is a knick by the trading deadline.

TT will resign with the knicks (ala Walker) next year for $6 to $8 mill per.

Anyone who voted "never" just hasn't been paying attention

I would want neither of you to come even close to being the GM of the Knicks, no offense.
I'd usually reply to a snitty statement like that with an equally snitty response, but I just don't have time or interest in getting into a snit battle. Sorry

Many great teams operate at or near the cap level.

With some finesse, I don't see why we can't either.

Unless KG is floated our way, I promote fiscal responsiblity while develping the youngsters.

I love that brown is here, but one must "BE COOL" about it and proceed with patience.

I can see The clippers running out of patience with Wilcox and let him be free. The clips don't tender extensions to idiots, and have a good track record of ridding of guys whom really don't deserve big money.

Perhaps if they drafted better in the first place this would not be the case, but if your going to suck, at least make money doing it!

No one's claiming that being at or near the cap will be bad for a team.
Q would have been a good player for the Clippers to keep at only $6 mil per season.

I would probABLY OPT TO DO THat in the first plACE, BUT i DON'T SEE iSIah doing thAT. HE Was quoted recently AS Saying thAT EVEN WHEN TEams get under the cAP, THERE'S NO CERTainty AT All thAT YOU'LL BE able to cAPITALIZE ON IT.

I THINK TIMMY IS THE ODD Man out, one wAY OR THE OTHER. I THINK SWEETNEY IS GONNa be deALT TOO, UNLESS HE Has AN EXPLOSIVE BEGINNING TO THE 05 SEason.

Larry Brown will want Shawn Marion over Fugazy Thomas. He played Marion a lot of mins in the Olympics. Hence I foresee a trade deadline blockbuster extravaganza trade between Suns and Knicks once again. I think Phoenix and NY has set a nice bridge for business.

Fiscal responsibility in NY was gone with Ewing in that terrible trade. We had Eisley as our pg! yuck...bad memories.
Knicks are happening and have a Unicorn.

I think TT is not going anywhere until next summer. Penny will probably be by the deadline. I think if Isiah was going to make another move this summer it would have already happen. Larry Brown will be the final piece.
