why is playing in NY a good thing? So you can get roasted in the papers every day? Booed like Houston by the hometown fans? Go to a losing team? Whats the appeal? What FA's have have been willing to come here for cheap? We were the only one bidding for Crawford. We overpayed for Vin Baker and Jerome James.
Tell me one FA in the last 15 years who came to the Knicks for less than market value.
Then if you cant think of one call me a woman
Wow, why would Larry want to coach in NY? Sounds like a terrible place to be. I'm convinced.
And the reply is...a post that makes sense (still waiting)

Finley is awesome... no sarcasm. The guy is a hell of a player, but again, why would he WANT to come here when he will have about 10 better options I can think off?
ok, stats are about the same, but dallas is like stat pad heaven.
Finley averaged 10, yes TEN, more minutes a game and the stats are almost identical, oh, TT had a higher 3pt and field goal average.
Interesting...we all watched the knicks this year and TT SUCKED...yet, shot better (and I'm talking TT put up BRICKS) from the floor.
So, if TT was in stat pad dallas, he would have had more points a game than finley...interesting.
Finley is a bench warmer. He's washed up. 15 points a game? That sucks.
Crawford averaged more. that should tell you something.
Keeping in mind, that's stat pad dallas he played for.
I won't even bring up the injuries. how many games has finley averaged in the past 2 years.
In the immortal words of 50 cent. We don't need 'em.
Dallas is NOT a stat pad when everyone on that roster is capable of carrying the team on any given night. Finley put up great numbers considering everyone on that team could shoot the ball.

We don't need Finley. This team is fine at the 2 and 3. We need to get rid of some our 4's. I guess the Knick bashing will continue until the Knicks actually play and win some games. Guess I'mgoing to have to hold my tongue until then. A suggestion though, if you feel your team stink so much, why don't you find a team easier on ya? I don't think some of you can stand the ride.

Rahim sucks but he is a good pick up for the Nets?
I don't get most of the comments here about available players. In my opinion the Knicks need help at the 3 and 4. Finley is old now but he could still come in for next season and fill in nicely at the 3 spot.
If I were him I'd try to play with Nash in Pheonix.
Walker is the guy we need to focus on. I don't wanna over pay for him but he draws alot of attention with the ball and that would step this club up a few notches. I think getting Walker would make the Knicks one piece away from being a contender.

Finley is a SG, who would be underiszed at SF. He is old and injury prone. We have how many swing players?
TT, Ariza, JYD, Rose, Lee, Q can all play SF.
Q, Ariza, Craw, Marbury, even Nate can all play SG. And I'm not even accounting for Houston and Penny.
I mean what do you suppose we do with these guys? Especially considering that Finley is really on the downside of his excellent career.
Even beyond all that is the simple fact that a vet already makin the max wants to go to a title conender, not a team coming of a 30+ plus win season and a lottery selection.
Couple that with the fact that somebody might giveme a good part of the MLE, well beyond the LLE, and we already spent ours on James, he might also get a better financial deal somewhere else as well.
The Knicks just arent right for Finley, and Finely is not right for the Knicks, I just don't see how it can happen, or could happen even.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Finley is a G/F who is bigger than Q.

bringing in finley is just perpetuating the same crap we always have been doing, bringing in vet players to help NOW as opposed to developing players that will help for a long time.
seriously, WHY bring in finley when you have two able bodied young hungry bodies in ariza and lee just WAITING for the opportunity?
if you think we're a finley away from winning a title, then you are delusional. we're not even a finley away from getting home court advantage in the playoffs.
what is going on here?
first toine, now finley?
