deep with mediocrity is right.

Stackhouse/Daniels/Harris/KVH
Gordon/Noccioni/Chandler (better than our starters)

On second thought I'm not going to bother going through the rosters. I do agree we are deep, but its more a result of bad contracts that wont go away than a result of a genuine collection of talent like the Bulls, Pho, Memphis or the Spurs have.

We are a 30 win team. Until we can play .500 ball I'm not calling us deep I'm calling us bloated. When this great 2nd unit starts translating into wins I will call us deep.

wow, I like nene, but how quickly do we overrate other teams players, I have the feeling that if sweets were in a denver uniform and nene were in a knicks uni, this converstaion would be a lot different. It's all about perception right now, and the perception now, even with knicks fans is that everything other teams do is sugar, and everything we do is ****!!!

BTW: I wonder why Denver paid all that money, near 70+ mil to kenyon to come and play the same position that nene plays?
No doubt about it. Nene had a bad season last year and had to put up a very good second half to make up for it. If you want to say that Martin effected him go ahead but I know Nene is the odd man out in Denver. I'll take his defense over Sweets because I think Sweetney lost something in that area last year. Personally I think Jackie Butler has more potential than Sweetney so go figure.

we are more talented and a little more balanced, but how much better are we than the 30 whatever wins we had last year?

What kind of team are we? Whats our style of play? If we get Larry Brown it will at least be interesting because he will teach these guys defense first, and thats a good start as we have so many young players.

We are deep at guard with Marbury-Nate, Richardson-Crawford.

SF is a question mark with Tim Thomas & Ariza. If Tim Thomas doesn't play well Ariza & Lee & Richardson can end up covering the mins at SF. Or have TT playing aginst 2nd & 3rd string Sfs.

It really all comes down to Sweentey & Frye. Sweetney needs to become what he was supposed to be. And Frye needs solid season. Taylor could be a quality 3rd string center.

Fish said it best in his post though about the salary and proving there worth first.

why can't posters deal w/people disagreeing w/them on various topics...it's merely a difference in opinion, nothing more.

We're plenty deep... you see very little drop off between our first, 2nd, and 3rd teams. :)

However... we merely sport an average (or below avg) starting 5.

With no identity, coach, leadership, and role players who clearly don't know there roles. We end up having having a deep problem.

You forgot to add "pessimistic fans" to the problem.

rob, i find it funny how you can't seem to deal w/people who disagree w/your point of view...not everyone shares in your rose colored view of this team.

I'm just glad I was not the one being castigated for not agreeing with this thread title, I'm kinda tired of being called a closet Net fan right after sayin Knicks arent that good and I hate the Nets. Go figure.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

how can you hate the nets when i saw you purchase a nba hardwood classic scalabrine throwback jersey? and then went and got a "TWIN" tattoo with a ball of fire and RJ cut into the back of your head?
and don't front like you didn't

back to the topic, we won THIRTY F'N GAMES last year. please, let's play a whole season before we figure out how DEEP we are or how GOOD we are or how PROMISING we look.

all i know is that my main focus on watching the team this season is to see how they handle sweets and frye.

sweets seems like an LB type of player, as do all 3 rookies. james better step up or become the 30 year old darko.

oh yeah, but first we have to sign LB.

Alot of fans have a loser's mentality. I don't care if we have Jerome James or Lebron James--I just expect to see winning basketball regardless of the names on the roster. If you expect to lose, that's what you'll get.
