you could say the same about Jamison, then all of the sudden he's with Hughes and Arenas and its a whole new story.

Reef will give the Nets great balance. As for not being deep I think a SL of
Kidd
Carter
Jefferson
Reef
Krstic
and a bench of Wright, Collins, Planinic and Dooling (they are talking about signing) is pretty damn good. Better than us, but they proved that (again) last year.

yes we all realize the nets are better off than us right now. but one move could mean the difference. all it took was that VC deal for the Nets to become what they are right now. A similar deal in our favor could really get this thang going...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

You're not a Knick fan. You're a closet Net fan.

Reef will have a good season playing with the Nets if he signs with them. He doesn't have to be the man, because he already has Kidd and Carter to do just that. If we get Larry, their team will still be inferior to ours...they will be a very good team to play against....

You guys already know how much I care about payroll; I'm not gonna repeat my view.
Regarding James' contract, it would be better if it were for only 2 years. I'm assuming, though, that if he's struggling by the end of year 2, they'll just buyout his contract like with Shandon Anderson (whose buyout was actually a lot more than James' would be after year 2).

I'm pretty confident this guy is underage.

Kid, maybe you should go get a lollypop and just chill out a bit. The ranting is pretty unnessecary.

you are honestly saying kristic is head and shoulders better than james...I don't even remember kristic showing up in the playoffs.

The team is overstocked at PF, and alot of them are immovable. So I can understand why guys like Swift, Rahim, or even Walker wouldn't come here for the MLE when they can get it elsewhere for playoff contenders where tehy may be the missing piece. I also understand that centers are at a premium in the league, and on average the JJ deal isn't that bad, it fills a need and maybe there's some untapped potential in this guy yet, as the playoffs showed, but there's no guarantee.

But the value of the contract is way off in this market. Rahim and Walker are coming off max deals and are only 28 years old, but are forced to settle for MLE or slightly better. (well we'll see about Walker) Swift is a young up and comer who was expecting 8-9mm and is signing for 5mm - he made more last year on his qualifying offer! And don't forget the guys who may be cut due to the amnesty rule. In this market, the MLE could get a lot of value. The dynamics have changed with the new CBA. So while the MLE for James isn't that bad on average, in this market with the other talent available, it's overpaying.

If the choice was Walker or James of the same deal 5yrs 30mm, who would you sign? I know alot of you would still say James just based on distaste for Walker, but no one would think that Walker for the MLE is overpaying. More than a few think 5 yrs 30mm for JJ was overpaying. In this market, they're probably right.

These players took less money to play with superstars: Yao, T-Mac, Lebron, Kidd. We just don't have that angle to sell the team on. Marbury is good, but not a superstar.

walker for the mle is a steal in a half.

We can still sign and trade with seattle for james, nothing is set in stone.

I remember reading that zeke was keeping that option open.
At this point, I would give up ANY two pfs for walker (with the exception of LEE, though boston would JOCK lee.)

for anyone to call another here a "bandwagoner" or not a "true fan" is idiotic...casual fans don't dedicate time from their day to post on a fan message board...just because people have differing viewpoints on the moves being made by the team's GM doesn't mean they're not any less or more of a fan than another...can we please stop w/the retarded labels being thrown around here for once?
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

the nets were a couple of games better than us last year, we drafted lee, nate and frye and picked up Q rich, they signed Rahim.

And they are head and shoulders better than us...snap out of it.

They don't have anyone to guard James.
And the reply is...a post that makes sense (still waiting)
