i think its going to be herb, and its not a great situation. why--the knicks dont really want him there and the pressure to win may make him push wrong buttons.


rehiring herb appears to be our only option.

Riles is a ****e for doing this! He states he is happy and then lets Stan do all the work so riles can come in and take the glory!

Quite frankly, for years I was a big riles fan in LA, and NY. He in retrospect, I don't think he did a great job in NY with the knicks. Not a bad job mind you, but I thought his teams were largley undisciplned and prone to bone head moves. He flat out got out coached by rudy, and Others! Read his books, and realized he did not practice what he preached. His show time teams were self monitered with greatness to some extent! Again, not a bad job, just not the job Phil did in chicago, and Larry!

His Heat teams would melt down every year!

His exit from the knicks was a disgrace!

SVG seems to have a lot of JVG qualities plus a personality. He has shown he can coach (unfortunately Herb has not). Herb should and will have a job in the organization but if SVG is available-he MUST be interviewed.

Why not give SVG a chance in NY with this team? This team isn't as different as his Heat team before the Shaq trade. The last time the Knicks had a winning team and were really a threat in the playoffs were with JVG. We have talked about how much we would love to see this team play defense. Well, Stan would be an upgrade there. Im not inlove with Herb as some of you, and I hated how he coached in the last games. I would welcome a change and get SVG if our goal is to make the playoffs this season. If thats not, then give Herb the chance, but at the same time trade Marbury so we completely suck and keep rebuilding. I would hate another 33-37 win season...

Stan Van Gundy has all the traits that I see in Bill Laimbeer.

He's firey and he is not afraid of the media.

He got those boys to fill roles and they played hard for him. He looks as if he is in the game the way he looks in the huddle. He seems like he is right there with them in the trenches and that's the type of coach I want.

Stan the Man......maybe this is why Isiah is holding out so long!!!!!!

He made some really disparaging remarks about NY this year if i'm not mistaken. He may not want to be here.
