Marbury was by far the best player on the Knicks last season. Does it make sense to blame a player who consistently plays much better than anyone else on the team for the teams losses?

He's the heart of the team. He plays through injuries. He's consistent. He WANTS to win. I see it in him. I remember after the season ended, when there was speculation that Isiah would have him placed at SG b/c it wasn't working out, Marbury was like, "I don't care. I'll play SG. I'll play whatever position they want me to."

I don't question his leadership b/c I personally feel that's not his forte. He shouldn't be expected to be the leader of the team, unless of course Isiah is relying totally on him like he did last year. I think whoever the coach is should be the outspoken leader of the Knicks. Personally, I feel Marbury would best be served being given direction by a Larry Brown. Steph needs someone to tell him what to do, to get in his head, to point him in the right direction...

The intangibles that make me think he should be traded (unless we can land a legit Big man) is cap space, roster balance, etc. Those are things that Steph has no control over.

And by a legit big man I mean the likes of Magloire, Camby, Nene, Boozer, Brand, etc. Not unproven potential in Kwame and Stro...

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I dunno. I admit I've never warmed to Marbury, even though he's a hometown guy and a fantastic player. But I can't see blaming him for the Knicks failures. Yeah - he's not a "nurturer", but these are grown men out there. The Knicks failures are collective.

Marbury's not going to be the "Mom" on the Knicks. Someone else will have to play that role.

In all fairness, it looked liked Marbury had to play at half speed last year because of the shortcomings of some of our other players--KT's lack of athleticism and ability to finish at the hoop, Craw's indecisiveness and bad shots, Ariza's lack of shooting ability, Nazr's inconsistency...etc., etc.... So I hope he can really get up and down the court this year and get some easy buckets--that will help alot. I know one thing is for sure though--if the knicks are below .500 at the break he will be gone if IT can get good value in return.
And the reply is...a post that makes sense (still waiting)

He will be past his prime if the Knicks have a chance to compete for a championship. It makes sense to try to move him now.

trading marbury is more about addition by subtraction if anything else...
translation...you hate marbs...irregardless if it helps the kicks, you want him gone.
go to the celtic board.
seems more like subtraction by subtraction

if we can't land a legit Big......then it IS exactly what I said it is.

The pro Marbury posts seem to be justifying Marbury's pouting and poor attitude because he was playing on a losing team...well, guess what, the Knicks will lose plenty of games next year and will not be that great--so what is Marbury going to do then? Pout some more? Do you think that will be good for the team?

no one is a Marbury hater we just want whats best for the team's future. Trading Marbury would really excelerate the rebuilding process as opposed to having to wait til 2009 when Marbury is 33
