I'll say it again. I'll take 16 & 2 from a 17yr old with greater upside than 16 & 3 from someone who spent 4 whole years in college but thats all I'm gonna say right now to avoid another arguement

Summer league or not, lets not make excuses for Bynum, he is telling everyone how much he has of Kareem and how he's the next Shaq and in this SL game he makes a statement 2 rebounds in 29 minutes. Im all for the third(?) game excuse after dominating high school hoops, but Andrew go stick your F neck in there and get 11-16 rebounds please. I know people will pooh pooh this, but this is a HUGE 7'1" full of potential guy, why is 6-2 will conroy outrebounding him?

BDG: What have you been doing personally to work on your conditioning and strength?

Butler: You know, just field work. Working on the track, lifting, working on my agility, just trying to get ready.

Caron also commented on Andrew Bynum and the potential he possesses.

“I think he’d be an asset immediately because he’s so big and athletic,” Butler said, “He really understands the game. I actually saw him in a workout and we were so excited just seeing him. He did so many things. His intangibles to the game are just unbelieveable. He’s so athletic. His shot-blocking timing is great and he’s a hell of a player so I’m excited to have him

Caron should start worrying about himself and find out why teams now want to move him so much and how he help his game out.

sounds like Zeke talking about Frye. everyone is going to talk up their own players. And Butler and Bynum have the Uconn connection anyway, so they're homies twice over.

Bynum tonight

6-10/12 pts 10 reb 2 steals 2 blocks 2 assits

the guy who kept the stats for the lakerground forum said bynum had 4 assits and 5 blocks

the guy just has been unbelievable for his age. As much as i thought hed be good, I really did not expect this type of consistent play so quickly. Even Rambis said tonight that he is all but locked to be in the core bench of the nBA team. That is in a week, last week they thought he wouldnt see daylight. he isnt scoring 20-24 points, but now I believe he could he shooting 58% through 4 games

Now its just to D&M bad he didnt go to UC for a year because if he did, we were locks to win.

Bravo!!!!!!!!!! He finally reached double didgets in rebounds! I'm impressed. Can you list who's been guarding him? Has he faced Howard or Okafur yet? Either one would do for to get a fair accessment. I need him to really play somebody this way I will know what he is.

Did you read my post about Kwame at just a few months older was putting up numbers close to 30 points and about 12 rebounds in many of his first summer league games? If so, what do you think about that being that he was not much older than Bynum is now?

i dont agree with that. i know there have been cases of players who have done well and scked in the nba and players who have scked in SL and done well in the nBA--remember john starks was first spotted by us playing in SL

its not so much the points or stats--its the quality and consistency of play. this is a guy who played less than 25 HS games was 310 pounds 3 months ago and now he is laying out 5 dimes? I knew it when i saw him play he isnt shaq, but almost the combination of a PF and a C I dont think they couldve found a better C for the future of the triangle. a guy with a huge frame who can post and pass, im really starting to suspect that andrew bynum now is the number 1 prospect in this draft, not because ive followed it because of what i have seen and what he has done and how fastly he did it, nto including the fact that the Laker doctors said he will grow 2-3 more inches and hes already 7 feet barefooted. IF he doesnt get hurt, and that is with any player--you are looking at the next great nBA C

Doesn't the level of competition matter in evaluating a player? If so, the SL doesn't often provide that on a consistent basis (and this is coming from someone who wanted Bynum over Frye).

i think it can show you an outline of what a player can be, perhaps that is what i am getting at. Bynum needs a lot of work in terms of strength and conditioing, and of course its almost impossible to grade a player until he fill out like a man. Actually hes so skinny looking right now he looks like jermaine oneal out of HS, although taller. Almost like a 5 tool baseball player he has shown the ability to score to rebound to block shots to pass the ball to catch and handle the ball and although 17 the willingness to bang and play hard against guys who are for the most part 3-5 years older with experience. He needs fundamental work on his jump shot, its flat, and all sorts of intangible fundamentals, but its the skeleton of the play and the rapid fire development that is so intriuging

Earl Barron dropped in 24 and Simien dropped in 20 on Bynum...with that kind of D or lack of it Bynum will not see minutes or he will be in continual foul trouble...
And the reply is...a post that makes sense (still waiting)

Again, can you also list for us who has been guarding him? And if so, being that you don't provide links, how much did the guys' he guarded have against him?

Monk listen up. It's just too much daggone work to do that.

I'll speak for us all here (since obviously we all should take certain parties word as gospel) and say that you should spend the time to research for yourself something that's readily available on the web (another reliable source of info)
