Yea this market is crazy. The East is getting a lot tougher though.

Simmons is getting too much money out of it. Same with redd. But at least the bucks locked up a back court for the next 5 years. If the bucks had not signed simmons for that money, some other team would have. If nothing else last year's FA signings showed how much teams would over pay for good, solid, players.

a couple things... when you see what Redd, Simmons and Hughes got I think Isiah did a good job with Crawford and Q. Neither of them are at that level yet but both could be and both are getting paid almost half.
I like Simmons and think this is a good deal for Mil, but to respond to your comment I think Q is better, not worse, than Simmons. Q is a lot stronger, a better defender, a better rebounder, better post player, and he's put up good #s on a winning team.

The thing that upsets me is that the Dolans, and Thomas to a certain extent, don't seem to have any idea of player value, cap management, or any business sense for that matter.

We can all agree that Q and Crawford are a bargain based on recent signings, but what's the point of having bargain-priced players if your team has no interest in taking advantage of that to lower the cap???

The Dolans are bad owners, simple as that. They don't care about winning, they care about winning NOW. And since there's no such thing as that, I believe theyre just full of ****. They're not basketball minds, theyre business minds. They'd rather have a mediocre product out there every year, then take the right route, REALLY rebuild, and come back strong in 2 years...

I'm greatly discouraged b/c, with the cap situation, and with Isiah targetting mediocre replacements at the Center and PF position, not only are we going to raise our cap, but remain in mediocrity for years to come. I always stay optimistic, otherwise I wouldn't sign on in here everyday, but it's getting ridiculous. Have these guys even SEEN the Suns, or Nets, or Spurs, or Pistons? There's a difference b/w paying players alot of money, and giving in to the market. If Isiah caves and goes after Kwame or whoever, signing them most likely to a contract around 7 Million per, then that's just pointless. How many more games are we gonna win with one of these guys than without?

And if this is all in the attempt of stockpiling players Isiah thinks we NEED, then that's odd. B/c I never thought Kwame or Jerome James were players any team would really NEED, especially for the future...

Oh, and more thing: With Nate playing basically the same style as Marbury, it's absolutely pointless to keep both, if not now, then certainly in the long run. I think Marbury will HAVE to be dealt next year, if not sooner...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
