Lee has an inch and a half on Gomes. I don't particularly like Gomes' style of play from what I saw in college. You have to remember, Isiah is building this team in the image of HIS Pistons. That team had the three guard rotation complemented by a lot of long forwards who could get up and down the floor, a defensive center and some small forwards who could hammer in the post.
Remember, it wasn't just Isiah, Brendan Suhr liked Lee and Walsh from Florida a lot. To me, if Brendan Suhr drafts a defensive power forward known for leaping and rebounding, I'm going to wait and give him a chance. Suhr is the guy who drafted Rodman and signed Ben Wallace in Orlando after Washington waived him. I believe Suhr also advised Dumars to ask for Wallace in the Grant Hill trade after Suhr was fired by Orlando. That guy and Zeke both have a stellar eye for talent. I'm going to give these picks some time, and in the meantime enjoy these scrimmages.
Also, if we're overreacting to Summer League performances here: Gomes stunk up the gym in his first game. He's a bum! He's got no future in the league!
Gomes is much more Mark Aquire than anything Lee is. Lee is having trouble getting his shot off in the SL. We can sit here and say, its ONLY SL, its only 2 games, BUT if you have trouble getting your shot of here, what do you think you are doing in the nBA?
Hey I like Nate Robinson for what, almost 2 years? I guess it doesnt take a pro to spot talent> When I said take Nate @ 30, no he's to small, take Blatche et al yadayada. Sorry, Lee is tweener 3-4 with no jumpshot. he's a grinder and we have two better one's who make a LOT of $. Frye is mid range talent 13-17 and I believe if he stays within parameters he is capable of 15 and 7, Nate is also better than a 10 minute tempo changer.
But Lee doesnt fit. Gomes has nBA post up skills, to go along with an array of offensive talents. Quite frankly he is better, there is NO, and I mean 0 doubt in my mind Gomes will be a much better pro than Lee. I question if Lee is a pro player.
