true at least Lee is a very good rebounder but JYD has been a very good rebounder his entire career also and who's to say the teenager Blatche won't get stronger and develope game inside

guns. JYD is a good hustle guy, a little to short to play PF not really long, not really a good passer or ball handler.

Lee excells in the areas where JYD is weak, lee is a good passer, taller, longer, a better rebounder can handle the ball, and can finish over people, I saw lee get a pass go over a defender with a double pump dunk, over a guy, JYD will dunk when open but lets be real, physically he isn't the same player lee is, especially when you take lee's height into account..

And sure Blatche can get stronger and tougher develop an inside game, but so can lee, and lee can get a better jumper and handle, and when you add that to what he has already, all things being equal he still will be ahead of Blatche IMO, but that is just me...

good points on Lee except he is not long at all. At best he's 6-8/6-9 like Jerome

I think lee measured out 6'8 1/2 without shoes, I would be suprised if JYD measured 6'8 in shoes.... I need to check that again, anyway, we will see lee vs Blatche tonight...

Briggs, didn't you like the Lee pick? Now you have a problem with the Lee pick? Now Isiah and the Knicks made the pick for a "white quota?" Some of the stuff you say is just plain ... special.

I think drafting him caught me by surprise. Hes not a bad basketball player, but if we were in the market for a 3-4, doesnt Ryan Gomes have much more all around talent?

Id like one person on this entire message board to tell me who David Lee has a chance to play over? JYD and malik are better 3-4s Tim Thomas Ariza? he really is not a 4 hes only 230 pounds and measured 6-7 1/2 in bare feet, heck hes had trouble getting his shot off in the SL, and has no jumper--so other than playing like a grinder--where does he fit--he becomes the 13th man on the roster with a 2 year contract. Maybe they seem him as the brian cardinal of this team, but cardinal has many more assets to his game.

they already have a fat, undersized pf. Lee can jump and run better, and projects to be the pure 4 they were looking for. I seem to recall that Lee worked out with Gomes at some point.

Gomes is a 6 6 PF. His chances of success are very slim.

Lee is 6 9 and needs to bulk up a little. He is a Mark Madsen type, hussle, rebounding, somewhat more skill, and he can jump.

Think of Madsen on steroids.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I don't get these Mark Madsen comparisons. THey are way off. I mean look at what you wrote. Mark Madsen with more skill, athletic ability, rebounding, hustle etc. I mean what the hell does he have to do with Madsen any more other than he's white?

Anyway Lee is a better player than Gomes. Gomes is a major tweener and wouldnt not fit on this team. Lee can get up and down the court and board.

hes not a better player than gomes, hes not bigger than Gomes , maybe hes a slightly better athlete? but Ryan Gomes skill sets are 20* better, he has developed his game from post to the 3pt line, he has a 7-2 wingspan at 6-8 240, he was a MAJOR League star in the BE, he faced triple teams every night, his nasketball iQ is off the charts. Lee is a grinder, Gomes is a basketball player.

Lee has an inch and a half on Gomes. I don't particularly like Gomes' style of play from what I saw in college. You have to remember, Isiah is building this team in the image of HIS Pistons. That team had the three guard rotation complemented by a lot of long forwards who could get up and down the floor, a defensive center and some small forwards who could hammer in the post.

Remember, it wasn't just Isiah, Brendan Suhr liked Lee and Walsh from Florida a lot. To me, if Brendan Suhr drafts a defensive power forward known for leaping and rebounding, I'm going to wait and give him a chance. Suhr is the guy who drafted Rodman and signed Ben Wallace in Orlando after Washington waived him. I believe Suhr also advised Dumars to ask for Wallace in the Grant Hill trade after Suhr was fired by Orlando. That guy and Zeke both have a stellar eye for talent. I'm going to give these picks some time, and in the meantime enjoy these scrimmages.

Also, if we're overreacting to Summer League performances here: Gomes stunk up the gym in his first game. He's a bum! He's got no future in the league!

Gomes is much more Mark Aquire than anything Lee is. Lee is having trouble getting his shot off in the SL. We can sit here and say, its ONLY SL, its only 2 games, BUT if you have trouble getting your shot of here, what do you think you are doing in the nBA?

Hey I like Nate Robinson for what, almost 2 years? I guess it doesnt take a pro to spot talent> When I said take Nate @ 30, no he's to small, take Blatche et al yadayada. Sorry, Lee is tweener 3-4 with no jumpshot. he's a grinder and we have two better one's who make a LOT of $. Frye is mid range talent 13-17 and I believe if he stays within parameters he is capable of 15 and 7, Nate is also better than a 10 minute tempo changer.

But Lee doesnt fit. Gomes has nBA post up skills, to go along with an array of offensive talents. Quite frankly he is better, there is NO, and I mean 0 doubt in my mind Gomes will be a much better pro than Lee. I question if Lee is a pro player.

As a 'Cuse fan I saw penty of Gomes and I have to say he made very little impact for a guy who's been hyped up so much. He looks smooth, but slow, not Isiah's type of guy.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)
