adding sweets and JYD to last year's final playoff roster for free.

Don't get me wrong...the scales aren't tilted in either direction, but this would save Grunfeld's job.

Kwame would be the 5th option on this team's first unit, but could be the second on the second unit.
all kool aid all the time.

If i'm Washington I dont' make this deal. I gotta get a center back for Kwame. I have Haywood and no one but PF's to back him up. Plus i'm now working Blatche into a frontcourt rotation with Jamison, Jeffries and Etan Thomas. I really don't need JYD or Sweets.

thats why it should be rose+sweets. rose at least can play D on some centers.

I dont think I would either despite the fact that Sweetney went to Georgetown. You have to think they could do better for a 23yr old #1 overall 7ft draft pick
I dont think I can take the opinion of someone who has fire Isiah in his signature, very seriously.

that signature can change very quickly!

until Sweetney losses 30LBS and stay out of foul trouble because of it, he will not average 30+mins and 16 & 10.

No doubt about it. Kwame has been a major bust but he's still only what 23? and would really benefit from a change of scenary especially to a serious historical organization like the Knicks where you better show up every game or you're going to here it from the fans and media. He has no choice! Again, Mark Aguirre can work wonders with the 6'11 250 Kwame. He can only do so much with the 6-8 overweight Sweetney who is overmatched by quicker players night in and night out.

I agree they already have enough of a frontcourt presense in Jamison. Surround that frontcourt with complimentary role players like Sweetney & JYD and they will improve. More so then being forced to give Kwame minutes because of potential. Putting more pressure on the kid. I'm telling you he needs a change of scenary in the worst way. He showed he could play, thats the reason he went #1. Jordan was not the only one he impressed.

Sweetney has reached his potential as he would never get more then 16 and 10? Whoever said that is a seriously wrong.

First of all 16 and 10 is great! Second of all, if you get 6rbds in 22 minutes, if you play 40 minutes, you will get more like 12.

And more importantly, Kwame Brown is a BUST, who will never even come close to anything. He is not even a shotblocker, in fact, he is nothing.

His only asset is his height and weight. In which case you could find some guy of the street who works as a construction worker and start him at center, you'd get the same production.

Trading away a solid NBA starter (potentially) for a bust who has shown nothing several years is stupid.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Jordan didn't do his homework when it was time to pick Kwame...he listened to his advisors and picked this dudd. I can assure you that Zeke would have done a much better job scouting Kwame...This dude can't handle pressure, and most of all, he has no fire what so ever about him...

I think Sweetney is and will be a better player than Kwame, so I wouldn't do this.

what 300LB'er ever averaged 16 & 10? if he can get serious and earn his millions by at least getting in shape I would really respect him and there would be no doubt in my mind he could put up those numbers because he has the skill but the weight limits his athletism

This coming season should be judgement season for a lot of our guys. Sweetney should at least be given this season to prove that he is worthy. Let's wait and see how he does with his weight and production before counting him out. One thing is for sure, before I consider a trade for lazy, and undisciplined Brown, I would do my utmost to find out whether or not Sweet should be the player traded...Don't trade Sweetney for Kwame, if it is Swift, I will accept it, but Kwame doesn't offer anything that we don't already have.

Over 40mpg, Kwame's career stats (3 seasons worth) are 13.5ppg/9.7rpg.
Sweetney's career stats (2 seasons worth) stretched to 40 mpg are 16+ppg/11+ppg.

Beyond the numbers, however, Kwame is taller and more athletic. He projects to becoming a better defender/shotblocker than Sweetney.

The Wizard mgmt prolly doesn't see a future w/ Kwame on the team. Sweetney/JYD are two local Georgetown products and fit needs in their franchise. Sweetney gives them some beef off the bench (they already have starters in place at PF/C) and JYD gives them more defensive energy (though Jared Jeffries already provides some of that).

This trade makes the Wizards a better team.

A starting line of Brown/Frye is much more impressive from a size standpoint for the Knicks... and dumping JYD gives us a roster spot (David Lee IMHO potentially brings more to the plate MORE than JYD).

Went from bad to worse. So I guess we should trade Marbury for a lucky player like Robert Horry and filler. We'd have the luckiest team around.

knick fans infatuation with kwame has new 40mpg stat fabrication that is now simpleton ready.

getting rid of sweets and jyd takes care of only one thing:duplication

can someone find out when is the last time a starting player with oh such talent gets suspended in a playoff run by his own organization?

....and when is the last time zeke made a major trade or pick for a high schooler?
