Big score for the Nets... I think Rod Thorn is probably the second best general manager in the NBA behind Jerry West, Thorn has made so many good moves for the Nets, it seems like everything he does just works. This marriage between Rahim and the Nets has been in the making for about 2 years... damn Nets are going to be serious contenders again.

I agree. This is huge for the Nets. I think Rahim is about 6'10 240. He plays post and rebounds well. He isnt lazy on D either. I think the Nets have a legitimate 1 thru 5 lineup now.

I'd put Thorn behind R.C. Buford and the GM tandem in Indiana (Bird and Walsh) for GMs.

What has Jerry West done in the last 3 years with the Grizz? He's been mediocre.

I still don't see anythng where the Nets and Rahim have a deal. I see that Raja Bell and the Suns have agreed on an agreenment and I see the Knicks signed Frye and Robinson. You can copy a link or a short cut. I am the most unsavvy computer guy here but you can copy and paste almost anything. Put up the proof.

Checked the realgm nets boards. THe only thing on Rahim they have there is a thread there linking the Knicks realgm board, where some poster says they saw it in on ESPNews with no link. Highly questionable at best.

It's questionable period. There's nothing wrong with the Nets WANTING Rahim and they just might get him, but he ain't there yet and that's what I have been talking about. You have people here giving kudos and pontificating about how great a GM Rod Thorn is. This entire thread is a joke.

Rahim is overrated and soft. He can shoot okay but he is by no means ferocious in the paint, give me a break. They can have him.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

all the kidd bashing, all the carter bashing, and all the sar bashing when combined in synergy makes the perfect excuse to go championship

better yet make those 3 your starting knick players

I'm a Knick Fan...I don't want no stinkin' Net on my team. Also there isn't really any Net Bashin going on here, some of us just want to see proof that you guys got SAR. We're still waiting...Who cares who you get? Any real Knick don't care about the Nets. Half the Nets fans don't care about the Nets. Were Knick fans this sarcastic when we won a few games in the 90's? I hope not. But, since you want to talk junk, your window of opportunity is closing. Your team will only be significant as long as Kidd plays and he is getting long in the tooth.

...that's why (I say again) that this should be in the NBA thread.
To hell with the goddamn nets. We don't want 'em in BK, stay the hell at the L-Low-Lands!

Shareef is soft, which is NOT the direction we are now going in.

KNICKS.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I dont know what yal are talking about, SAR is 20 and 10 or very close to it, and you dont get those numbers by being soft. There are thing he is, which is a versatile scorer in the paint out to 3, gets to the line, shoots a high fg% everywhere, and there are things he isn't, a shot-blocker, lockdown defender, or soft. He would easily be the best PF on our squad by a long shot.

you get those kind of numbers playing on some horrific Vancouver Grizzlies teams.

He's a 15pt per game score on a good team. And he plays no defense whatsoever. Heck Brand would barely average 20 on a good team

We don't need another TT in N.Y.

Shareef and Kwame are exactly what TT is....Soft...

We need guys that are agile and guys that can get physical in the paint....and dive on the floor for the ball a la JYD...BUT TALLER...
The true Knickabocker..........

Shareef has never won anywhere he went. Never even made a bad team mediocre. He is the definition of a stat guy who never wins, and doesn't play defense. No thanks.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.
