There's a quote in the Post (a paper I usually hate) where Isiah says 'playing in new york is not for the weak minded'. Same goes for L.A. though. It can build you up or tear you down. It is up in the air whether these things will affect these players. Any given player can go either way. Some are just more proven on a more consistant basis. That says something....but of course it doesn't say it all

Knicks said they thought Ariza would go top 20 and tried to trade up to get him. This is just flattering the player you drafted. Nothing more.

That- and offering a defense for their pick.

I thought the lakers really 1 coach and one good player away from being able to compete. Bynum, if he turns into a good player, is probably going to take a while to develop.

So, basically, Phil gets to coach a lottery bound team next year.

Bynum:
"I'm looking forward to the palm trees and Jack Nicholson," he said. "I wanted to be a Laker for some time and I'm here. I'm not shocked. I went to the Lakers' workout and did pretty good. I was able to get a guarantee a couple of days later."

Not Knicks bussiness...

I actually thought they would have picked Gerald Green. It would have been a better match.

Lakers have enough talent to make the playoffs. They should have made it last year, but Kobe neeeded a coach to help him get his mind right. He was not focussed on playing good team ball. With the same team and a good coach they make the playoffs.
