How would I have done the draft differently?

8) Green
21) Petro
30) Taft

But I am extremely happy with Robinson and Lee. Not a fan of Frye, but I'll give him a chance.

There's more to come folks, plus we still don't know what Butler has or what Reezy and Sweets will pick up over the summer (careful, guys)
Frankly I am not a very happy person. I am not sad but I am not extremely happy.

Our team as of right now: Steph, Nate, Craw, H2O, Q, Penny, TT, Ariza, Sweets, Mo T, JYD, Rose, Derek Lee, Butler and Frye. WTF? This will sound crazy but I would rather have Derek Lee play PF than Sweetney and I dont think Ariza will be starting for the Knicks next season. Who there gives us hope? If the trades are coming, I can live but what else can I look forward to Marv?

we got a lot more athletic tonight. Frye was hidden in Lute's system while playing with a ball hog, but he is a really skilled big man who can run, jump, shoot, block, catch and is still getting bigger and stronger. He was great in the tourney and fantastic in his Knicks work out.

Robinson is a freak, and will be a difference maker on the second unit. The fastest player in the draft and one of the best leapers.

Lee is another great athlete who can finish, grab board and play d.

Q. Richardson is a terrific swing man who can hit threes, drive and rebound from either position.

That's a nice haul, considering it's just the beginning of the offseason.

Don't sleep on David Lee as a backup C. I really think he can play a few minutes there.

Both he and Frye because of hops and arm extension can block and change shots.

Silver, remember what Ben Gordon did for Chicago and Earl Boykins for Denver last year? That's what Robinson is gonna give us.

I realize a lot of peole are down on Frye, but man, i think this guy is really gonna be a natural athletic big man who's gonna contribute a lot from the start.

Q, Craw, a Marbs who won't play all summer and will have backup on the court?

Lee and Sweets in his make-it year?

Reezy having a major improved sophmore season?

SOme kind of plowing through of all the extra PF's?

Another C or 2 through FA signings or trade, and maybe butler showing he's got it?

Get a coach with a system in here and man i'm stoked. Serious, Silver, there's so much more potential now.

AND NO K THOMAS AT CENTER!!!!

POST DRAFT: Trades better start coming and start making sense because we had 4 SGs (Craw, Penny, Q and H2O) and 4 PFs (Mo T, Rose, JYD and Sweets) before the draft. We added a PG, a PF and an thin Center. This roster doesnt fit.

This I agree with and I can start feeling better about Frye and Nate

Personally I don't give a crap about Penny, H2O, Mo, Rose or JYD.

We're moving on and we HAVE moved on.

Of course add Gazy to that list.

Let those guys expire, trade 'em, i don't care.

We just added 4 young guys who can play. Our young core went from 4 to 8 like that. And Butler may make it 9.

Amen. This is going to be a young, tough bitch of a team to play next season. I'd like to see the team that can cover a backcourt with Marbury, Craw and Nate running at you for 48 minutes. And big bodies of Lee, Frye, Sweets, Malik and JYD banging. Sure, we need some more height - but we still have the MLE and the expiring contracts to get better over the summer.

The more I think about this, this was a great draft. Yes, I wanted Blatche over Lee, but chances are Lee ends up the better player. He's certainly the better defender, rebounder, shotblocker. Lee is basically Chris Andersen 2, and since I've been begging for Chris Andersen 1 for a year and a half, I'll take it.

That would be interesting. I know Isiah didn't come away very impressed with him at his workout. I'm still very high on Taft's long term potential.

This is a horrible draft unless....

I told you guys about that rumored Gasol trade, did Warrick seem a little wierd there going to Memphis? Supposedly the #19 pick was suposed to come our way with Gasol and that balding Purdue kid for Penny and Ariza.

Hmmmm... only that will restore my faith in Thomas

I thought this draft would redeem him, he should have taken a risk at 30, Frye is what he is, but take Blatche at 30 please.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I don't know. It was on a Nets board and I think a Golden State board.

Thanks Marv, that does make it sound a lot better. The new players do make the Knicks a lot younger. I am surprised and I should give you some credit for being optimistic. It shows commitment towards developing talent.

I thought Isiah wanted to make the Knicks a playoff team that wouldnt win a championship. I didnt expect him to actually try to rebuild. This looks like a rebuilding team now. Strange but it looks good. I guess we have a lot to look forward too.
