The country is doing pretty well if you look at most indicators. I highly doubt that would happen. States would give up all the federal support they receive just as a protest? Then their roads, health system, education, and safety all fall apart.

I lived in the south for more than 20 years. I don't believe you appreciate the level of anger, and mistrust out there at the federal govt, right or wrong. And its only getting worse.

I have a home in Florida and it's getting much more progressive. But you still have a large population with a low level of education who blame everyone but themselves for their bad socioeconomic position. They feel its the Mexicans, minorities, foreigners fault that they work at low income jobs. Not their limited high school education and disinterest in hard work. Luckily, those type of people are slowly being eroded by hard working immigrants looking to take advantage of the American opportunity and long standing Americans who understand the importance of education and hard work. Unfortunately, their are still way too many of the former and Trump does a good job using their bitter lives for support.

I'm sure people are angry, but it's not enough anger to actually make a state secede IMO.

That said, if a state like Alabama or Mississippi wanted to leave, I wouldn't be heartbroken. I'd feel bad for people in the state who wanted to stay though.

if you need a newspaper, tv, radio or internet to tell you who to vote for, than you shouldn't be allowed to vote to begin with.

Yeah, we should only allow low information voters to decide the future of our country. Brilliant.

Of course it's getting worse. What do you expect if people are constantly fed information to lead them in that direction? I only wish people were angry about facts versus distorted, biased, propaganda (from both sides).

How did things work out for them the first time they tried that idea?

Trump is at it already: http://www.cnn.com/2016/11/08/politics/nevada-voting-lawsuit-donald-trump/index.html

In a sign that the legal team for the Trump campaign is aggressively laying the groundwork for potential legal challenges -- big and small -- lawyers have gone to state court in Nevada in an early vote dispute.

They are suing Joe P. Gloria, the Clark County registrar of voters, over a decision they allege he made to keep polling locations open "two hours beyond the designated closing time." The lawsuit targets polling places in the greater Las Vegas area that have larger minority voting precincts.

Wanting as few people to vote as possible...so "American."

LMAO, just bought my first pickup. Its a 4x4, but like a luxury car inside. You would be surprised how sophisticated these trucks are now. Rival luxury cars for high tech features. I love the V-8, the transmission not so much, but it still can move, and tow stuff.

it is potentially the case given where one works, and where the other at least had residence and senator for, that both are Knicks fans!!

I would like to know where each candidate stands on policy, such as triangle, and PnR defense

Health care insurance with high deductible is awful if nothing happens.
If you get something bad, or in a car accident, etc, it is devastating.

Wow! Glad you are still with us though.
I think I brought this up earlier in the thread regarding healthcare in Germany vs. The States. Germany has some pretty good surgeons but the health care costs are MUCH less here.
I think that is why Obamacare is so dangerous right now.

I know life is valuable, but it is hard to understand how they come up with that figure. I know it adds up, but I just have a feeling the costs are way overpriced.
I mean how many hours was that operation? What was the breakdown? I'd love to see a comparison vs here in Germany. (Mind you, quite a few German doctors go to America
as that is where the money is...)

Sorry, I'm in Germany, guess you have missed me mentioning that but I should have been more clear.

I just left fla, and there's a long way to go. The GOP is hardwired into the fla legislature, and the courts. Lots of people happy to keep them there. They just gave Rick Scott a second term with virtually no serious opposition. Tells me all I need to know about how far fla has to go.

I said if things dont improve over the next decade. Hell, some left leaning states might do the same thing if they get tired of sending red states more in federal dollars than they send back. I cant see another decade of this increasing acrimony without a serious shock to the system. Maybe Trump is it, IDK. Hopefully it doesnt get worse than these candidates.
