Lenny got the worst treatment of all. What was he supposed to do with that collection of bums?! And he had them playing 500 ball. ShandEisleySpoon, et al. SMDH.

I've seen some legitimately good coaches over the years due to being a fan of the Giants and Yankees. Not as many but some with the Knicks and Rangers... I really thought Lenny did a masterful job coaching that team. The roster he took over was awful and pushing him out the door disguised that fact

when lenny was kicked out/ left, he had the knicks playing well. Crawford and marbury resembled a decent back court, than poof... all of a sudden he was gone.. another black eye for this franchise...

not one person is willing to touch the fact that he got fired right after winning in Detroit.. WHY? He lost to Dolan in arbitration....why?
He's been fired by every team he worked with after the Knicks...why? WHY DO YOU GUYS THINK HE WOULD have made a difference with the Knicks? Not one person has rebutted these questions.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I said it at the time that I trusted Larry over the other 2 clowns because if what he did in Philly and Detroit. The problem was Larry made the clowns look worse so they had to rush to get rid of him. If only they rebuilt the team with Larry brown players. Even if it took 4-6yrs. Unfortunately we did that years later for a much more inferior coach in Mike ****in Dantoni and wasted another decade if you count Amares 5yr contract. Still no championship in sight so many yrs later. Hollowing that we get it right after 2015

Larry was done as a coach by the time we got him. Look at what happened to him after he left. Why was/is he constantly getting fired by guys who are supposedly good friends. Not saying Isiah and Dolan weren't much bigger problems but, Larry doesn't deserve any credit for his tenure here.

No one will answer why he lost in Arbitration if he was here doing a good job? Why did he get fired from his next couple of stops? Larry was a bad choice at the time. The one who got a raw deal was Lenny Wilkins imo.

How was he done as a coach by the time we got him? He won a chip and went to the finals in the 2 years before he got here.

I was a huge LB supporter at the time, but with hindsight he was part of the problem and came here to cash paychecks from Dolan and Isiah's free cash giveaways. Larry brown was as big a part of the circus as IT, Marbury and Dolan- he put power games above doing his damn job. Remember, if Larry Brown had won that power struggle, he wanted K-Mart (micro fracture surgery) and that Portland small forward with the bad attitude and who also ended up with microfracture surgery. Those guys had huge contracts at the time- we would have been stuffed.

Also can't forgive him for pushing for Jalen Rose AND Steve Francis. Steve Francis made no sense, other than to stick it to Marbury. An awful era.

The Bargnani trade isn't as bad as Mo because its such a low risk and his contract ending along with Amare make is even easier to swallow. If he doesn't work out, then he will be another expiring contract that we could possibly be valuable

Same as most bad trades - we're always being told how low risk it was or how bad the players and assets we gave up were.

nah, most of those Isiah trades were real head scratchers that made little sense at the time. Old Penny? Steve Frances? Tim Thomas for Van Horn? VanHorn for Spree? The last one can't be blamed on IT though

Sure, in retrospect. At the actual time, they were at least as popular as the Bargnani trade.

Penny Hard Away, one knee short of the best PG of his decade!

VanHorn, the Great White Hope!

We got Steve Francis! Marbs + Francis = Clyde + Pearl

Tim Thomas! 6'10" and has a handle like KG! YAY!!!
Too bad the comparison stopped there.

And our beloved Mo T! The beautiful $10M expiring contract that was going to yield great dividends. Too bad they never used that awesome potential. Instead they bought him out.

And lets not forget Jerome James! You can't teach height! You can't teach girth either! Did you see that playoff series he just came off of?!

exactly. Most of us were like WTF when those moves went down. Vanhorn was playing some of the best basketball of his career putting up comparable numbers to Spree in points and exceeded him in rebounding by a good number. There was no reason to move him for Thomas. Everyone knew Penny was done and he proved it. Jerome James...you don't give anyone a big contract based off one good playoff series. So I have to disagree with Bonn when he says they were as popular as the trade for Bargs. The board is split on Bargs but, almost everyone viewed those other moves as poor to outright terrible.

Didn't get that move either. Was Naz a part of that package?
