Brunson is a better player than DM anyway

Atkins will take the fall. Seems any success he has is short-lived.

one thing in Cleveland's favor is they have managed to stick around even while playing like crap. If they get their **** together they can make a series out of it. But that's a big IF because I don't sense any real "heart" on this team. Strus seems to be the only one playing with guts

this is the thing. Tony Brothers is just too old and can't keep up.

There are a number of playoff refs (Zarba comes to mind immediately) who I think calls a fair game and the players respect and think things even out with them somehow. Somehow things are made right

With Brothers though he doesn't like criticism, warranted or not, and will go out of his way and make bad calls after to remind you who has the whistle and who can make your life miserable. I don't think he is crooked, but he is bad at this point.

I'm actually usually cool with a ref doing so if the committed foul was more legit than this.

More often than not, the best move is the one you don’t make. Imagine if LAC never traded for Paul George? Leon’s moves were very calculated and we can debate the Mikal trade but he held his bullets on many moves and it was a smart decision on probably all of them.

IMHO one of the underrated parts of the Mikal trade was his salary. For the past 2 years, he has made $23.3M and $25M with his extension jumping to $33.5M next year. Knicks could have been over the cap the last 2 years but were not - plus the Brunson contract - and now, looking forward, they pretty much have to be over the second apron next year whereas the clock and penalize that come with it creep in don't hit for 2 years.

thank you for some factoral Context! Its been two years, team is doing really well. When we say "We could have done more with those picks" its kind of easy to say but not piece togther reality.

Lakers had a really nice season and one a round in the playoffs WITHOUT Luka.
Now, not saying Dallas got value, but why did they trade him? They did not have conficence he'd be able to lead them to the finals. If your best player cannot stop getting technicals and stay healthy for a playoff run and you decide to trade him, that one aspect was not unereasonable. Luka is a hell of a player, but not like lakers made a run last year. Not This year. Remember Dallas had to put up with him running his mouth to refs game after game and getting max until suspensions were levied.
Good idea (trade him if yee of little faith) perhaps executed badly (Davis a broken player).

A soccer-style "advantage" rule, whereby the team can play on after the foul if it is to their advantage would be the simplest way to cut out the "hack-a_________" crap. Call the foul on the player (and on the team), but allow the fouled team to play on if they wish.

I watched a video on fb where this guy breaks down how sga baits the fouls. You can see it here also. As soon as he feels pressure he grabs the defenders arm or wrist and the acting starts. It is actually sga who is committing the foul. There is no coincidence that sga is rewarded with more ft attempts than any other player. Once you see it you can’t unsee it every time

You're right. What SGA (and Embiid) does is totally different.

What doesn't make sense to me, is that the official who made the call, doesn't seem to have the right angle to call that foul.
