If they don't play mad like they allowed themselves to get punked the other night...honestly my first reaction is F@ck them....... they're not ready with this group to take that next step...hope that is not the case...
I was listening to NBA radio about a week ago, and I think it was Sam Mitchell who was saying that winning the way they did in Boston, with the reaction from the fans and the city, and the Knicks becoming the kings of the town, everyone singing their praises and naming streets after them, was probably the most dangerous thing that could have happened for them. They basically had 4-5 days to get pampered with praise and have everyone tell them they are the greatest things on earth. We know this team responds best after they get slapped in the face. They don't respond well to success all the time which is why we can never close out a 3-1 series and usually get walloped in game 5s.
Although I don't think he was right all the way because we played extremely well to give ourselves a 99.7% chance to win with less than 5 mins left, maybe we needed another slap in the face like Game 5 vs Boston.
I hope and pray we can blow them out tonight and get momentum back on our side. It's not hyperbole to say the season is on the line tonight. Falling down 0-2 at home and our chances of winning the series fall to about 10-15% probably.
We came out and did what we had to do... for 45 minutes. But IND is really good at causing late game havok, give them all the credit in the world. yes you need some luck to do what they did and they certainly got it, but thats who they are.
Its funny they probably outscored us by about 30 points the 1st 4 minutes of the game and the last 4 minutes, so we gotta do a better job there.
Yes season absolutely on the line tonight, if we lose, we weren't meant to have this. Like the TNT crew said, this might be the best chance at a Knicks championship in some of these players careers, IND is VERY beatable. Losing to OKC would be one thing, but losing to IND would feel like blowing it.
