Last night Bridges showed me what I thought he did not have in him.
Don’t care about season stats. Don’t care about players that have done things in other cities.
I want Dawgs that show up for NY when it counts.
Bridges showed me last night that he is that!!

I am happy to have Bridges but I still think it was a big overpay.
I would prefer Hunter for three seconds and have multiple firsts this year and many firsts going fwd.
We are a bit boxed in, though it’s a nice box but could have been much better.
Time will tell.

Do mean to say you would prefer McBride? Cause if we had Hunter that's who would be playing. Hunter misses tons of games every year and his team is down 0-2 while he misses games (thumb). Meanwhile Bridges never misses time and has come up huge in this postseason.

Health/availability matters.

Disagree. I think Hunter is good, but he's still like a 60 cents on the dollar OG. The fit offensively would suck. Hunter would give us even less offensive creation than Mikal inconsistently creates. That doesn't mean we didn't overpay for Bridges, but that has more to do with timing. The Knicks decided they want to strike at the beginning of the season. I'm sure there were also some under the table shenanigans regarding Mikal's upcoming extension.

I think they can retain him on the cheap (ish) with a 15% trade kicker or whatever that max is so he gets it back

The picks are very conceptual for second guessers.
The picks might never yield a player as good as Mikal.
Or, they might have a star.
The picks are over time. There is a "present value of money".
What do you get now vs the future?
Opportunity cost? Its the picks. Also, who makes the picks and how matters. It could take years to actually figure if we over paid.
All we got is "I think we over paid". Thats it. No way to quantify that other than measure ones expectations.
Its aligned with "I think we could do better with another coach than Thibs". Its an open concept and one rooted that change is for the better.
"We need a coach who won a chip". Those chips don't transfer BTW. Its a nice idea but does not always work. Ask PHX about Vogel, Or coach Bud, or KNicks about Lenny Wilkns, Or Pat Riley, or Clippers, Philly or Milwaukee about Doc Rivers. I sure there are others. We bought back Red Holzman and he sucked in his return. Coach's with Chips don't always repeat the task.

Fans know this, but they are emotional.

Yeah I was gonna say that it seems like Hunter misses more games than shots.

i dreaded them getting him... was like wow. However he's in the Porzingis zone of availability

As big a role Bridges has played starting in the playoffs.I hope he's coming off the bench with Mitch next season. Jamal Crawford was also good enough to start. Also a finesse player.

Crawford won 3 6th man of the year awards. And I think Bridges could win at least one without having to play next to a PG as much, with Brunson's usage rate.

That....and game 6 @ Detroit when he dropped a much needed 25 to help close the series.

For me it’s the 14 point outburst in Q4. He sensed we were struggling and took over. That’s what you want from someone who was regarded as one of the final pieces.
And Of Course the second clutch defensive play at the end of game 2

This. It wasn’t just his off the charts defense. Bridges also hit some big shots during the 20pt comeback.
