Where’s the Thib haters at? I thought he did ok even though I missed the beginning of the game. I started watching when the announcer said, this is the biggest lead for the grizzlies.

I don’t blame this on Thibs but it’s ashame the way this FO built this team, with so much depth. I know that’s a good problem but I think it’s a bad problem when you gmhave guys like cam who will get pushed back to the bench once grimes is back. Thats how deep we are. But how do you decide how much to give cam if he doesn’t play? I hope this game forces thibs to give cam more PT and increases Cams confidence. He has the talent this team needs.

The only way Cam saw PT lastnight was due to an injury from grimes. What happens to cam when grimes is back?

RJ was a little too excited to start the season, I’ve been there. You play great leading up to the 1st game and then you crash due to opening night jitters. This will lite an even bigger fire under RJ. He probably at the garden right now shooting a million jumpers. I’m not worried about him.

I am worried that some of our youths will continue to get buried due to this roster makeup. But Thibs did fine yesterday. He could’ve been better but so could everybody. But I like how Thibs rewarded cam with PT due to his play.

As others have noted knicks played with grit and should have won. Refs blew it on that Ja call.

I think cam benefitted tremendously from Brunson not only getting him the ball in the right spot but showing trust.

Better times ahead.

Tough loss but can't get too upset. We showed heart and grit coming back down 19 on the road and had many chances to steal it in OT.

Great game by Reddish! Kudos to Thibs for not only going with him in the 4th but also drawing up that play for the tying three! Reddish took the bull by the horns and earned a spot in the rotation for the foreseeable future. There is just nobody else on the roster who can do what he does. His transition game was electric! Hopefully he stays hungry and engaged and continues to ball out!

Kudos to Randle too. He played well offensively and on the glass. Losing him in the OT was killer.

Tough game by RJ. He couldn't buy a bucket. It happens to the best of 'em so no need to overreact. He'll be fine and bounce back.

Funny to read thru the thread as the game progressed.

The over reactions are intense.
True: Memphis missing two starters but Jah is really something special.

RJ was guarding him alot and it ****ed him up. Nobody stops Jah BTW.
Nalod does not understand the IQ love except when he is hitting shots. His defense is not great and not making good decisions.
But we got 81 more to go.
RJ might have been pressing it with the new contract and all.
No “Blame” for Drose missing wide open looks? Pull up Three and it looked forced. It happens.
The Randle haters got a dose of Obi reality. But, OBI is a big banged up so we can give him a pass.
But…..

Love the resilience of second half,. Brunson calmed down and got into his game. Randle let the game come to him and he was great.
Adams manhandled iHart a few times. Loved his passing, the trapping, and moving off the ball.
RJ had some nice passes, as did Randle. EF nice second half.
Yes, Cam might have saved his career last night. One or two spazz moments but the form on his jumper looked much better.

Lets discuss something folks: Memphis is freaking huge team and it mattered! There subs are big, and they are well coached.
Did we lose or got beat? Memphis bounced back and held the lead.

If you get on Knicks for blowing a lead, have to commend them for coming back as they did! Thibs coached a good game.
Not good enough to win but we took Memphis to OT on the road. Can’t jump to conclusions on anything after one game.
Second half was fun.

Impressive to get back in it, but they were missing JJ. Should have won this won.

The officiating was a disgrace and the reason we didn’t take this one

Not fair to put a whole loss on one player. We got outrebounded by 10 and gave up 20 offensive rebounds and 17 threes. The poor close out defense on Aldama, Konchar and Jones was the biggest reason we lose imo.

It happens to the best of 'em.

RJ will be fine.

good game.. Knicks played hard. Obviously need to shoot better. Cool seeing Thibs ride the hot hand with Cam. Julius looked great. The Brunson/Julius combo looked great in the half court. Mitch had no answer for Adams which really hurt. Adam's offensive rebounding I thought really won them the game. That's what he does

This was a great game and terrific way to start the season by locking horns with one of the top teams and going OT.

If I had to complain about one thing..
I would have LOVED to see Deuce play defense on Ja.

Cam looked excellent. He’s playing for a contract. I say start him at SF and let him earn it while helping us get Ws

No, those other guys will be fine cause they've demonstrated to be able to actually shoot the ball consistently.

RJ has yet to show us he can. This is actually norm for him. Which sucks.

Agree, lots of overreaction to one bad game. RJ hasn’t been great but he has been a solid to good player here and the Knicks made the playoffs in 2020 and almost made it last year thanks in large part to him. He will play better.

I'm not trying to pile on RJ, but I've said it before, he would be a better fit on the 2nd unit.

Look how Evan's man moved im out of the paint where it clogged Mitch making it wide open.
While it looks bad, was RJ thinking he had back up? Watch Even, then Mitch.

It will help to have Cam or Grimes starting to add more defense on the perimeter especially Cam then Fournier can be the bench sniper. If Cam gets it all going MIP and a steal. We are due in winning a trade and getting a big reward for a low risk. If Cam is the man we hope he is and Grimes is as well we are not far away from being very dangerous.

If Cam puts it all together he can make up for drafting Knox. Then trade Quickly and Mitch and unprotected first for a force.

Huh? Uh yes you can. 3-18 from your so called young franchise players is absolutely the reason we lost. Not to mention you his defensive breakdowns on the PnR. Most caused by his disappointment on the offensive side. And his inability to help in other aspects. Ie. Rebounding, assists??
His shot will come around but if he continues to ignore his teammates on offense and is one dimensional, we will not be good.

RJ wasn’t the only bricklayer last night. IQ and Obi did their part. RJ actually played semi-capable D on Ja that’s part of why the swing from down 15 at half to tie at end of regulation
