i said i study people. everyone is a psychologist to the degree they study themselves and others. unlike you i see the games of most players as extensions of who they are as people.

this could be a fruitful discussion if you want it to be.

anyway... ok so i am not your friend. as i said no need to get bent out of shape. use the ignore button.

"Everyone is a psychologist?" Are you kidding me?? So your not a psychologist and your basing your assumptions on watching people? You have big problems dk. My youngest son went to college for 8 yrs to be a psychologist and I think him and anyone that has gone to college to get their degree in psychology would disagree with you beyond your words. How can you even say or think that?

I'm in my 4th year studying psychology and you say "Everyone is psychologist", I find that very disrespectful. That's like saying everyone is a doctor because they can look up a few things on the internet and diagnose and treat themselves. I don't think you have any freaking idea how much work goes into studying psych. What a "douche" statement.

cooch2584 wrote:Notice,Kobe aint talking stats or TS%. Kobe is talking like a very knowledgeable bball player.Ill take Kobes opinion over a bucket full of meaningless stats and unwarrented hate. There are many agendas being shown here but the only agenda that counts is wins and losses. And right now we are the team to beat. Finally, the Knicks are the talk of all the web sites and sports tv and radio. Why cant some just enjoy this national attention and soak in the glory?.Remember all the negative talk about this franchise over the past 10-15yrs about how we sucked and how we were a dysfunctional org. Its all changed, so myself, keep the stats and WINNING IS THE ONLY THING.

you could stand a refresher course in psychology. bryant is a vain douche who is projecting his own limitations as a player onto carmelo who shares the exact same limitations. of course bryant would sympathize with what amounts to an extension of himself. both these dudes lack utterly the ability for self-reflection and introspection. in speaking about carmelo's problems he is speaking about himself.

There are several problems with this statement.

1. You can not say that he needs a refresher in a psychology "Course" and make a statement regarding self-reflection, when you really don't fully examine this subject or it's studies until about your second full year as a psych major... and this is coming from a psych major.

2. You say Carmelo lack the "ability for self-reflection and introspection" well, really there is no need to use both words, but okay. And the first flaw in your argument is his constant acknowledgement of "GOD", if you've taken a Philosophy and religion class along with that psychology class, you will know that ... the first rule in finding "GOD" is finding yourself, which is a direct cause for self reflection.

Also his ability to point out his flaws and the change in his game this year is called "self correct", which is brought upon "self reflection".

3. Exactly, what are Kobe limitations, and if these limitations have led him to 5 championships, and potentially the second greatest sg to play the game, is this really a valid argument?

4. I agree, Kobe is an a**hole but so are other greats. Michael Jordan was the biggest one!

5. Take away Kobe statements, you still have other players stating the same exact thing. Maybe Jason Kidd, Chris Mullen and Steve Kerr are more credible in your eyes. I would take what they say to the "bank" as well.

6. See, the problem with making statements about someone's character without knowing them can lead to a lot of misunderstanding ... It works both ways, I can "judge" you and say that you have a problem with self-reflection because of your inability to forgive the trade is directly linked to the inability to self reflect.

no need to waste keystrokes on me. melo and bryant are vain douches and their games are extensions of their vanity and douchiness.

i love players who play FOR others.
i like players who play WITH others.
i DON"T like players who merely play ALONGSIDE others.

Glad you admitted your position/agenda. I disagree about Melo. At least we can watch your team mvp tonight. Also, you have posted before that you felt that Melo would have had more character if he waited until he became a free agent and then signed with the Knicks. Is this still your position and the source of your Melo hate?

he could have waited. if he could have he should have, or why bother honoring the contract you are still playing under? that is a loophole that should be changed by including incentive clauses in walk years.

it was an unethical decision he made and i hate unethical behavior.

that said, if he puts his dirk on i will be pleased.

He was getting moved so that the Nuggets didn't get stuck with losing him for nothing. Again, he also was going into free agency when the owners were telling the players they were going to lock them out, reign in salaries, limit free agency movement etc. He was either going to become a Knick or be sent to another team at the deadline. Calling his behavior unethical and hating him for responding to the current economic situation and the Nuggets responding to what happened to the Raptors and Cavs the previous summer is small minded in my opinion. However, as long as I know your bias is based on some fantasy scenario where you blame Melo and the Nuggets for responding to the economic climate at that time there is no reason for me to read your posts on the subject.

I wasn't a big fan of Melo last year. He deserves all the compliments he gets this year. I think he finally "gets it".

WOW, this thread has become worse than the Lin threads. Bunch of overly opinionated men and emotionally invested girlymen arguing about nothing really.

I got stats to back my opinion up, yet stats can be used to prove just about any damn thing. Opinions are not something that should be argued. Grown men make their points, accept opposing view points even if they differ and then move along. WTF is wrong with some of you

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

martin/andrew, shut the site down now!

Opinionated colon-clogged girlymen posting their....opinions!

Stats prove anything!

Everything's relative!

I can see both sides of every issue! There's no perspective! We're all neo-cubists! (Yeah, I don't really know what that means, either--some kind of artsy-fartsy thing)

I hate Melo! I love Melo! I hate Lin! I love Lin! MDA's a basketball genius! No, he's a douchebag career playoff loser! Ewing was great! No, Ewing's a chipless loser! The sky is blue! WTF, no, it's white! Wait, no it's black now!

Watch the games! Enjoy! Nah, screw it! Don't watch anything, the NBA regular season is meaningless shit !

Guess the only time everyone agrees is when the Knicks was custom to losing
