Picture this...Sign Felton, Dwight traded to LA, Match Lin, Houston left with absolutely nothing. The only thing missing is Grunwald giving Morey the double bird at the Felton signing/Lin matching press conference.

Or maybe Grunwald was avoiding the offer sheet til this deal was done, and now will ask Houston and Lin if they can withdraw the offer sheet (technically not official until we receive it) in return for a S&t- maybe Courtney lee and one of their many PFs? How would everyone feel about that.

I think Lin is gone.

It is official once Lin signs is, which he did. The only thing that Grunwald has done is stopped the 3-day clock from starting.

Given that now it seems verbal agreements can be changed idk what the NBA will allow now.

This just seems so crazy. The whole league is doing some pretty bush league stuff and I have to be honest, I am hating this new NBA. We are seeing Super teams built at an alarming rate right now and this new CBA seems to encourage/allow massive amounts of roster turnover via front office mechanations while severely limiting movement via signings.

If Grunwald's MIA-act today was to nab Felton, last decent PG on market, who HOU'd need, sans Lin, then ‪#Knicks‬ GM is straight-up ruthless.

Despite my single malt inducedcoma, I thought of this too. Would be very happy if true.

dude, you are like 1 move ahead of every post I make tonight. Right now I am thinking of stopping over in the Great Butt thread here:

http://www.ultimateknicks.com/forum/topic.asp?t=41539

Perhaps you can post something before I hit that

Sorry, I have been a 100% behind Lin. Probably overreacting and overthinking. The single malt is good!

what flavor?

McAllan's 15 yrs - smoky!

Good stuff!

i think Lin is gone. Isola is a "hater" but he's right more often than the other beat writers.

It's not a verbal agreement. Lin signed the contract, all that's left is for the Knicks to look at it and start the 3-day waiting period.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Are there people really advocating crappy fat Felton over Lin?

got a link?

if true, we get a under-achieving SG in lee (who can shoot the lights out when he's on) and markief morris who is a double-double machine. i'd definitely make that swap...

You can't sign and trade a guy who signed an offer sheet.

How is that even possible, given that Lin signed the offer sheet? You can't match and trade, can you?

That said, I'll still be shocked if the Knicks don't match the offer for Jeremy Lin.

Even though this is impossible, it would be Marcus Morris, not Markief (he's with Phoenix)

Fukcen ISola. Knicks aren't that high on Lin, or else they wouldn't have been interested in Nash; now shocked if we don't match. How easy is this sports journalism gig?

It is the exact opposite of plausible deniability. I said it at one point so that is what I meant.

The rumor is that the offer sheet would be withdrawn (since not delivered yet) and then the trade would happen instead. Not sure
how much validity is in it, just thought I'd pass it along.

Knicks sign Jason Kidd - will either match Lin or sign Felton?!!?! WHAT?
